Now they are working without PC.
Inside - accumulators and control scheme (simple MIDI sequencer) with 4MB of memory.

How complex a tune can they play? Could they handle Lizt, or maybe A Strauss waltz?

Thanx, comrades Wink
MWBailey, they are can play MIDI, but chords (in classical music) are very difficult for them.

Nice look, interesting approach, not sure I would want to use it to tell time.

I like those, too!
However, it seems a little hard to make out the difference between hours and minutes. Huh

but I still like them. Smiley

Hours are displayed at the end of the cycle of rotation clockwise, minutes - on the contrary, counterclockwise.

That's ingenious!

Also now it's been explained to me, that's actually easier for me to read than many clocks/watches with hands, because I have to pick ones with hands in different colours/vastly different shapes because something in my dyspraxic brain can't tell which hand is longer if they are too similar, so usually I have to work out the two possible times and see which one is most logical.

Hi ALS,

Very very clever - I can appreciate the programming skills as well as the hardware, midi to PWM - utterly amazing Smiley and tiny inverters to get Neon voltage from +5v..
I know a genius when I see one - keep up your amazing work please Smiley

Bravo!!
