I have not seen a sword or knife thread here, and decided to start one!

There are many, many impressive swords that come from the Steampunk era -what is generally is accepted as 19th century as I've seen it. For example, the Turkish Yataghan came into Cavour at this time, and the Civil War sabers were made. For knives there is the Phi Kata or the Kard. One could even put a Katar in this category. The Napoleanic NOC sword, or the Shiavona Broadsword are all excellent examples, as are many rapiers which grew into favor in this time period.

Does anyone else have some swords they would like to share?

There was knife thread some times ago, but it was mostly modern designs so it's nice to hear also from real victorian era blades etc. http://brassgoggles.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,36770.25.html

Kukri has been my personal favourite from that size category very long time now, but also some old bowie knifes look quite interesting. Specially the coffin handle designs with riveted plates.
