The trailer is a bit disjointed, I still don't know who the adversary of the season will be.

Certainly enough going on there to whet the appetite.

How very exiting! I actually thought Penny Dreadful had finished for good.

They did wrap up season two as if it was going to finish (watched it last night, just in time for S3)

Sign up for HBO streaming, then you get both Penny Dreadful and Game of Thrones.

Yup. I've read where the creator had decided this was it mid-way through last season. Still, it's better to end it while we still have fond memories of it, rather than running it into the dirt.

I suppose because it was the last season, the whole thing seemed a bit rushed, like we didn't get all out of it we should have as they tried to bring every story line to a (more or less satisfactorily, depending) conclusion.

I'll have to wait until the DVD comes out; hopefully the creator's thought processes/reasoning/rationale will be explored in the extras.

Haven't seen any of either Penny Dreadful or Game Of Thrones.

But complete box sets of both won't be long to wait for.

Well, I've got to express my disappointment with how it all ended. I loved the show, loved the slow-burn that each season normally offered up. Seems like another poster was correct-- midway thru the third season, someone must have decided this was 'it', and every loose end was just cut right off, every story-line ended as quickly as possible, throwing logic to the wind.

I have to say after my initial doubts, I have found the 3 series very entertaining and wanting more.

The 2 outstanding actors for me were Eva Green and Rory Kinnear.

If you don't pay to watch it, why should they make a season 4?

I just saw the first episode of season 3. So they are just reusing people from previously? Rather disappointing.

Very true, but one issue that sells screenplays and ideas is that now the need for a definitive ending, and set number of seasons.  One thing to point out though, is that although the Victorian era series is over, it leaves much for a more modern one to take it's place.  Vanessa was bitten by Dracula, is she truly in demise?  Frankenstein's monster, eternal as well.  The evils have not ended, but, maybe a 'family' recall to their great grandparents mission can once again be seen.

Maybe, all we need is to get on the writers to think of this?
