Maybe you've hit them all?

Oh...that's a lovely thought, but, as you yourself have just proven, I'm nowhere near done.

Brass and Bone by Cynthia Gael had not come across my radar until you brought it to my attention. As it appears to only be available electronically, it will be added to the e-book list.

New books keep being released, and older books and series are being brought to my attention. In addition to your heads-up on Brass and Bone, I've discovered there's a new Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences coming out. So, it looks like the list will never be "finished". Which, if you think about it, is actually a good thing for us. We are voracious readers, after all, and if this list never stops growing, we'll never run out of reading material from our genre.

So, yeah, I'll whine and kvetch, but it's all a show; I'm happy that I'm able to be of some small service to the community.

Thank you for supporting this project, and please, do not hesitate to bring new works (and old works I haven't listed) to my attention whenever you have new intel.

Two quick updates:

Add to the Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences series the forthcoming The Diamond Conspiracy.

New to the list:
286. Wilson, David Niall:
Tales of the Scattered Earth:
The Second Veil
The only Steampunk book in the series.

not a problem. I also ran across another, a Kage Baker called Nell Gwynne's Scarlet Spy - just saw the cover, so I don't know if it's actually SP or not, but since the other two were included...Wink
It is a moving target, so not to worry.

If it's a Nell Gwynne story, it probably is. I'll look into it and check back in.

Not sure about this one (sometimes the descriptions are unbelievably vague) - but The Inventor's Secret, by Andrea Cremer (if I send a duplicate entry, let me know.

And Sherry Ficklin's  Extracted (The Lost Imperials) which makes it part of a serial. The review did mention Steampunk.

Well, after doing some research, I found Nell Gwynne's Scarlet Spy...and there's a rather sad little tale to go along with it.

I have added it to the list for Kage Baker, but apparently the author died shortly after the Nell Gwynne stories first appeared. Nell Gwynne's Scarlet Spy actually reprints the prior entry The Women of Nell Gwynne's along with a newer short story, "The Bohemian Astrobleme”. It appears that originally these two tales were meant to form part of a larger work, and the beginning of an ongoing storyline which now, sadly, will never materialize.

Both the works by Cremer and Ficklin are already on the list, but I'm curious to see if they have expanded on their respective series, as these two books are the only ones I know about. And don't worry about the duplication; first, it's better safe than sorry, and second, with the list as big as it is even I have made duplicate entries, so, no worries.

New addition (by a Brass Goggles community member):
Duncan, Rod:
The Fall of the Gas-Lit Empire:
The Bullet-Catcher’s Daughter
First in the series.

These two additions bring our total of individual works to 716.

Keep the recommendations, corrections, and updates coming!

Science! - Thomas Dolby...Wink

I did see a..erm...well combo steampunk and B&D series, something 'Domina.' Don't know how far we want to go in that direction...Wink
Alas, I didn't make a note of the actual author, but I guess if it's popular, sooner or later everyone tries to cash in...Wink

Well, if you look closely enough at the list so far, you'll find some...interesting...titles. I am trying to be inclusive (although I did draw the line at what appeared to be a work of rape fantasy), so when I can I'll look this series up and see if it appears to be within the parameters of the interesting works I've already included.

Thanks for the heads-up, regardless!

@pakled05: I'm really going to need an author for Domina, if possible. (Although, there were some very...interesting...entries and images that came up during the search...none of which were the book we're looking for.)

And now, the latest update, with a milestone...

292. Asaso, Satoruya & Asamiya, Kia:
Steam Detectives:
Volume I (?)
Volume II (?)
Light novels (YA).
There were at least two books, published between 2000-2001, but I cannot find any other information. But, I've been sitting on this entry for a long time, and have decided to post it to the list in the hopes that someone else has more information than I do.

293. Barrus, S.C.:
(series name?)
Discovering Aberration
First in the series.

294. Humburg, Katie:
(standalone)
Snatched
In my online research, I was unable to tell if this had any Steampunk in it at all, but it came heavily recommended by an established Brass Goggles community member, so, until someone tells me otherwise, it's on the list.

295. Jennings, Maureen:
The Detective Murdoch Mysteries:
Except the Dying
Under the Dragon’s Tail
Poor Tom is Cold
Let Loose the Dogs
Night’s Child
Vices of My Blood
A Journeyman to Grief

I haven't actually read any of these books yet, but as the television series it spawned is almost universally accepted as Steampunk (or at least a better example of the genre than some of more fantastical entries on this list), I'm including it. Probably at least a 5 on the Mohs Scale of Science Fiction Hardness (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MohsScaleOfScienceFictionHardness) based on "genuine speculative science or engineering" of the time.

296. Kinkade, Scott:
Infini Calendar (?):
The Game Called Revolution
Secrets of the New World
The Revolution Beyond Time

297. Kring, Billy & Wier, George:
(standalone)
1889: Journey to the Moon

298. Martin, Andrew:
Jim Stringer, Steam Detective:
The Necropolis Railway
The Blackpool Highflyer
The Lost Luggage Porter
Murder at Deviation Junction
Death on a Branch Line
The Last Train to Scarborough
The Somme Stations
The Baghdad Railway Club
Night Train to Jalampur

Another series I haven't read, but as with #292 above, I've been sitting on this one a while, and for this one I'm invoking the Murdoch Rule (see #295 above), and much for the same reason. However, earlier editions listed the series as Jim Stringer, Railway Detective, which may be more accurate. Because of this, I am open to debate on whether or not this belongs on the list.

299. Vaughan, Robert:
The Wild, Wild West:
The Wild, Wild West:  The Novel
The Wild, Wild West:  The Night of the Death Train
The Wild, Wild West:  The Night of the Assassin

300. Wormser, Richard Edward:
The Wild, Wild West:
The Wild, Wild West

*Note on The Wild, Wild West series:  These books are based on the classic television series, not the (ahem) movie...*

This update brings our list to 300 individual authors/series with a total of 748 individual works.

And we're still not done...

(standalone)
Edgar Allan Poe on Mars:  The Further Adventures of Gullivar Jones

302. Priest, Cherie:
The Borden Dispatches:
Maplecroft
First in the series.

303. Dickens, Charles, w/Basic, Zdenko (illustrator):
Steampunk:
Steampunk:  Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol
Dickens’ novel with Steampunk illustrations.

I need help from the followers of this thread!

Steampunk Tales #13, edited by Meagan Franklin, has resisted all my efforts at determining its contents. It is only available electronically. I was able to determine the stories contained in #1-12, but this one's got me stumped.

If anyone has downloaded this collection, would you mind PM'ing me with a list of the stories? No authors, since I'm indexing the anthologies by editor.

Thanking you in advance, I remain,

First up, some housekeeping (additions, corrections, etc.):

I have alternately included A Red Sun Also Rises in Mark Hodder's Burton & Swinburne series, then, without explanation listed it as a new entry all on it's own without deleting it from the original post, and more recently have asked others whether it is Steampunk or not and whether or not it should be included in this list.

Clearly, I've lost my mind. (I simply must stop reading aloud from the Necronomicon after consuming cold oyster soup and warm milk before bedtime...)

Imma gonna make it official:  It stays on the list, and stands alone and apart from Burton & Swinburne.

All hail Nyarlathep.

Add to Sophronia Belle Lyon's The Alexander Legacy the pending The Deadliest Game:   A Steampunk Literary Tribute Adventure. Also note that an e-book only prequel to this new book, Black Crow's Blessing, is already out ahead of the main work.

Add Winston & Baum and the Seven Mummies of Sekhmet to Seth Tucker's Winston & Baum series.
