Am I the only one that believes that pistols/revolvers, should come in pairs? And then these pairs go into a nice box. Or is two pistols too much for some people?

Duelling pistols absolutely must be a matched pair in a box. When you challenge another chap, he gets to choose his pistol and you take the other.

Absolutely! No two ways about it! And speaking of dueling pistols, would it be possible for two Calvary pistols (these being longer than others) to be duelling pistols, disregarding the size the box would need to be?

"A matched set. Just like the ones that slew your heroic Alexander Hamilton" - Gen. Trelane, (ret)

Don't know why that popped in, and misquoted at that...Wink

Now Maets, do they actually cock and fall? And do they fire anything or no?

This is absolutely brilliant work.  A brace of duelers, in a lined box with steampunk accouterments that would historically have been the powder flask and other tools.  Original, elegant creation with the immediate impact of nostalgic recognition.  In other words, it's really nifty!

I believe the cylinder flasks next to the hammer are 16 gram CO2 tanks.
Maets, am I incorrect on that account?

Actually whip cream canisters.  These are all show and no go, but you don't have to tell your friends that.  Actually these now live in Chicago.

Really! That is very interesting!

Now to get the lock mechanism, did you Pre-buy a kit or hand machine it?

The handles are hames ends.  The barrels are garden hose nozzles and inbetween is pipe.  All welded together.

Thanks

Gas cylinders on prop guns always make me think of the Green Hornet.

Original concept sketch, circa 1936, of the Green Hornet's Gas Gun. From the Detroit Public Library's Special Collections.

The gas cylinders in this sketch are different from seltzer cartridges or whip-its.

Maybe this sketch will inspire someone.

They have copper tubes that are capped at the end but I cannot remember their name...they look very much like a pistols barrel. Thinking of buying some and making dueling pairs.

Started working on my pair of percussion or flintlock (haven't decided yet) cap pistols. Long barreled Holster Pistols with spurs on the trigger guard and simple engravings on the handles. Possibly engraved butt caps but probably not.
