Right; Worcester...

I'm anticipating being in the city for around 3PM today.  So if anybody else who would otherwise be sitting in their hotel room tonight would like a pre-meetup meetup this evening?- I'm sure you know how to get in touch (either here or via faceache).

Looking forward to tomorrow!

Persons intending to travel by open carriage should select a seat with their backs to the engine, by which means they will avoid the ashes emitted therefrom, that in travelling generally, but particularly through the tunnels, prove a great annoyance; the carriage farthest from the engine will in consequence be found the most desirable.

Just had a great day out at Worcester - big thanks to those there for helping making so enjoyable.

Looking forward to the next one - well, as soon as my legs have recovered from all the walking.

I've posted this over on failbook (due props to Mr. Harrison for use of the term).

Mechanical Things: Adventures and Inventions from the World of Rowland Emmett is back at the Thinktank in Birmingham from December 1st to March the 5th. Highlights include Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and a myriad of other bizarre contraptions and whatchamacallits.

I'm not entirely sure of the line-up for the New Year, but it might be a good one to start off with, or at least an easy one to fit in. There's no extra charge for the exhibition, just the usual Thinktank entry fee.

Oh, and Madam Takara - I saw you from afar at Comic-con the other weekend (I spent most of it lurking at the Steampunk stage promoting a project I'm working on) - I loved your horse!

EDIT: And just like that, the WMSA is going on the 28th January.

Oh thank you! *^_^* I didn't realise you were there or I would have come over and said hello! I dropped by the steampunk stage but we didn't hang around because I was with friends and also doing to masquerade, so we didn't do a lot of staying still!
The horse's name is Charles and he is very flattered by your compliments Wink

We did the trip to the coffin works around same time last year so as to accommodate those from the shire of Worcester who had "commented" that we don't do anything in Birmingham that they can come to.....not sure those who "commented" actually did come.

I know precisely what you mean, dear chap. I've contacted Birmingham Museums to double check arrangements and so on, even if it is nearly two months away. There's a group rate available, which requires at least 10 people in the group (something tells me that won't be an issue).

Link to facebook event, should anyone need it - https://www.facebook.com/events/1612748125695170/

EDIT: Date changed to the 21st January since BMAG have advised me that they'll be 'BUSY' on the 28th...

If it's of any use to anyone Aldi on the Birmingham new road is selling faux fur stoles for all your winter steampunking needs. Im not sure how many colours they have but there's definately blue and black and they'll likely be cheaper than new look and the like.

You can buy in advance online but we've always bought them at the station on the day. I think they're £19.00 each, that usually entitles you to ride the line all day long.

Hi, you can buy on the day or book ahead. If you book ahead it's £18 per adult with a £1.75 booking fee. On the day it's £19 per adult
see http://www.svr.co.uk/Book-Freedom.aspx

I got mine in advance as I know someone who works there and was able to give me one of their free tickets.

Just to confirm - our planned trip to the Think Tank to see Mechanical Things has now been changed to the 21st January, and we will be eligible for group discount.

Also, I'm now not working on the 27th, so I may be able to make the SVR trip after all!
