Comic is to feature steampunk redesigns of various characters including Red Sonja, Vampirella, and the King Features heroes Mandrake, Flash Gordon, and the Phantom. Steampunk Steve Austin might be interesting:

It seems very reminiscent of a DC series of a few years ago titled "Firstwave", which featured stylized versions of the Spirit, Batman, Doc Savage, and the Shadow.

If that's a steampunk Steve Austin..why doesn't he have steampowered legs? Eye, arm and both legs..that was the extent of his bionics.

That had crossed my mind but as his arm and eye are very much on display I figured his legs would be too.

To paraphrase from The Monster Squad:  "He had to wear pants, those cinematographs were made in the 1890s! He had to wear 'em so you wouldn't see his mechanical dork."
