wow, what a brilliant build!  really well put together by the looks of it.

on the animal front- have you thought about putting something like triops in it?

you buy them as dried eggs in a kit similar to sea monkeys, but they get bigger and more interesting really (about an inch long if i remember correctly) and, they look quite cthulhu-esque too

Triops are the oldest living species on the planet, aren't they? I'd bet they can survive exposure to aetheric rays.

Besides, you can tell people that it used to be a goldfish.

Overdose of Aetheric Energies? I think so.

Yes, triops would definitely be an excellent choice as they have survived every catastrophe the earth has endured so far, and they are so very cool looking

That's just an amazing piece of work.  I like the triops idea too. They've always looked to me like the larval form of some creature that would eventually
eat the main character.

Dear Mr Handbook - may I post about your curious aetheric emissions chamber on the main body of the Brass Goggles page?  Some of the later colour photographs are just stunning.

I just need to say again how absolutely awesome that thing is! I kinda shrugged at it until I saw the color photographs.

Shall I be the first to congratulate you on making the front page?

Also, a while ago on one of the imageboards I frequent, I found a picture of three decapods similar to the triops, except much bigger and more armoured-looking. They were eating potato chips out of a bag and it was quite humourous, but I never found out what they were. They looked somewhat like lobster tails at first glance. If I knew what they were, I would like to suggest one for a fishbowl like yours, although they might be too big.

I do not find any pleasure in owning and watching fish under glass, but if I had the contraption you show there I would deffinatly have to retract that statement.

I picked up the candle holder that made the stand and lid for $2 at a thrift store.

The glass orb is from ace hardware, it's made for covering ceiling fan bulbs (no flat bottom). that was $3

the helping hands magnifier and clips were $2 at harbor freight.

The 6v power supply was from radioshack for $7.99

The crystal was $1 from the Rock and Mineral shop next door to my house.

the rest of the parts I had on hand.....

The white and purple leds were scavenged from an old toy and a camping headlamp that had broken.

The lightbulbs on the lid were pulled from a 1972 vw superbeetle speedometer.

the antenna was made from small bits of compressor supplies and a wifi antenna plug.

The vial is a long lightbulb that had burnt out.

The brass grommet halves fit nicely into the VW brake drum springs that hold the orb in place.

Overall it cost me about $15.99

The helping hands parts were a very bright chrome that I didn't really like against the aged brass. So I took a sheet of filigree (taken from the candel holder) and wrapped the chrome rods to knock back that bright shine and add some style.

They come with these little food pellets, but they will pretty much eat most meats, like bits of ham etc.

edit- According to wikipedia, pretty much anything.

They have hundred of little arm type things that they hold the food in when they eat, it's a bit bizarre to watch.
