In 2004, Hallmark produced a Two part Television Mini series based on King Solomon's Mines.
I have not seen this production, but the reviews are generally good.
Possibly not the most obvious casting, but in this version, Quatermain is played by Patrick Swayze
One of the UK freeview channels broadcast this a year or so back.  It wasn't too bad.  It was shown as one film on a Sunday afternoon (IIRC) & as such was perfect viewing.

Some actually quite predictable thoughts from Alan Moore on all this. Interesting to note, despite the fairly healthy pay checks we assume he could have received from Hollywood, he's actually currently looking to kickstarter to fund one of his own projects.

I love Alan Moore and his work. But he's such a grouch. Smiley

Yeah.... but we have Penny Dreadful now... which is everything the first LXG film should have been and yet wasn't.

Persons intending to travel by open carriage should select a seat with their backs to the engine, by which means they will avoid the ashes emitted therefrom, that in travelling generally, but particularly through the tunnels, prove a great annoyance; the carriage farthest from the engine will in consequence be found the most desirable.

Penny Dreadful does tend to put cinematography ahead of plot though.

Well it was, and it wasn't. I mean Penny Dreadful had nice production values but really lacked a decent plot.

Penny Dreadful does tend to put cinematography ahead of plot though.

Well tbh, I think the plot of first LXG film, paired with the cast and production values of Penny Dreadful would have made a better film/series than both of them.

I'm still waiting for someone to make a proper film adaptation of The War of the Worlds, mind...

Well there IS a film version of WotW set in the correct time period and faithful to the original book

Who do you think you are insulting the good name of this forum by post such a massive pile of Donald Trump! (Bovine Excrement)

If it goes forward, it will be lucky if it ever gets beyond 8 out of order broadcast episode.
Yes fox, we are watching you closely after you ballsed up Firefly
