Nope, not a fan of that episode. It didn't really make any sense.

The grand Moff wasn't the one who wrote the episode.

No, but he is the showrunner, so the buck stops with him.

My guess for the Pink paradox - Orson Pink's grandma was some other girl who Danny was playing on the side by telling her all these secondhand stories of timetravel etc that he got from Clara, and when she finds that she is pregnant and he dumps her for the little schoolteacher, she is so enraged that she runs him down with her van....   Wink
Afterwards she gives the boy his surname and years later when passions have calmed tells her grandson the stories as a rosy-view of grandpa scumbag before he gets taken into Care.

because moffat is a sadist when it comes to killing characters.
Also, that episode was one big plot hole, I felt. Going to watch a subbed version soon see if I might get it then, but I don't think it'll help.
and it was ment to be scary but failed misserably?

The series has been great, I've felt... until the last two episodes, which seem to be channelling last years fridge logic.

Well, the Moff has said that Series 9 will end on a cliffhanger, so it's really a 4-parter when you include the Christmas special. We shall see what we shall see.

Had to stop halfway through Face The Raven. The sheer stupidity of the plot was overwhelming.

I think because you can only pass it on once, otherwise one of the immortals present would have taken it.
I also think this is not the time to be talking about what was missing from the plot, because this story is not over until the season finale. We are meant to be asking these questions.
Although now whenever I wake up and rub sleepy sand out of my eyes I just think "man, that was a dumb excuse for a monster."

That's what I wondered.

It's weird.  I rather like Clara, and Stephen Moffat's run in general.  But all I felt at you-know-what was annoyance at Moffat's transparent emotion-manipulation, impatience to just get on with it, and a general feeling that the entire episode was several entangled Idiot PlotsTM.

Weak plot aside, I think preferred this weeks episode over last weeks eye crust monsters...  And besides, at least there wasn't the WORST attempt at a Geordie accent I have ever heard on TV being used this week. Saying the Geordie phrase "pet" (a North-East English term of endearment) at the end of nearly every sentence does not qualify as a Geordie accent!...  Roll Eyes

So anyhow, Clara has snuffed it and the Doctor is very pissed off. Seems like the next episode should be interesting for what ever bad guy of the week is behind the teleport.  Grin

Five dollars says "them" is the Time Lords and they're gonna either put the Doctor on trial or elect him President like they keep doing.

I suspected Gallifreyans too.  The preview didn't look too promising, tho', all more haunted castle stuff.

Forgive my ignorance, but where was that?

I cringed at the New Mexico sheriff's accent in the Zygon story.  The last decent regional American accent I heard on Doctor Who was that one kid in the Hooverville in "Daleks in Manhattan."

But I remind myself that none of the recent efforts ever rose to the level of the bad accents in "The Gunfighters", and that probably our American fake British accents sound just as off to British ears.

Shame about the writing and plots.
And where did the budget go?
