New to the forum and am having a bit of difficulty navigating it as well as trying to find what I am looking for.

I am a avid sewer, crafter and a DIY kind of girl. I'm looking for a pattern for the leather piece to Steampunk goggles. I am currently attempting to make my own pattern and I know I will eventully succeed but I'd love to see what all is out there that others have created.

Thanks for any help.

You can try right here (Tactile section), since Goggles tend to be posted here, but for I'm wondering if patterns might be found in the "Anatomical" section of the forum where patterns for hats clothing and general wearables usually appear....

Thank you.

I think I just perfected my pattern piece but as this is my first pair of goggles I am creating myself. I thought it would be fun to get help from others. I am slowly figuring out how to navigate this forum. I shall try an post my pattern pics.

Hello and welcome.

You could use the search (top right of the page) to help in your quest, that would potentially save alot of time.

Just did a very quick search and the following post may give you some ideas on where to start.

I don't know if this would work, but you could try carving a toilet paper or paper towel core to get a comfortable fit, then "unroll" it as a starting-point for your pattern. It would give a cylindrical eyecup rather than a conical one, though, and that might not be what you're after.

By the way, welcome to BG, and we look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Thanks again for the welcomes!!

I think I got a good pattern worked out... I used scraps of old fabric and cardboard to perfect the pattern piece. I'll post a picture when I get back home. Using a friends computer currently. I think I have the worst luck with Search engines Sad I always come up with something far off from what I'm looking for.  But I think I've got a good hold on how the search through this forum now.
