Adele 25 - 3 CD set incorporating Adele 25, & 2 CD compilation of songs from 19 & 21, including Skyfall etc.

Have been wanting to get some Adele for a while, having heard the first two releases from 25. Missed a lot of radio over the last 10 years or so, apparently!!

Can't sleep, and after three days of being couped up at home without being able to go out for anything (no money before paycheck), I'm just listening to non-stop trance music... It's sufficiently brainless to match my mood.

I'm listening to the entire Clear Channel Communications 2001 "questionable lyrics" memorandum, or the "try not to play this" play list.

I'm really not sure why some of these are on there. In the same vein, I'm really surprised some other songs were completely overlooked.

Classic  Smiley Jean-Michel Jarre was quite ahead of his time for 1976. I remember first hearing his music around 1982 or so...

Later on, Vangelis made waves in the 1980s writing a whole bunch of themes for movies like Blade Runner, The Bounty and so on...

I don't know if you know this but there are 3 albums of Oxygène. This below is Jean Michele's Oxygène 3, released this December (2016) for the 40th anniversary of Oxygène (I'm definitely converting this to mp3). He's 68 years old but certainly doesn't look it!!!

RETRO NIGHT TO-NITE

The Cult's exceptionally piratey and hilarious rendition of She Sells Sanctuary. Captain Jack Sparrow would be so proud of his little brother Ian Astbury  Cheesy

Cartoons come alive to the tune of Norwegian New Wave Synthpop. "Take on me" by A Ha

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djV11Xbc914

Bagpipe-rock, brought to you by Scottish band Big Country - The name of the song is, well what else? "In a Big Country"  Tongue Notice the map in the video which clearly states that is the "Big Country" (just in case you were lost and suddenly you didn't know where you were)  Roll Eyes

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=di-_n05tppo

Late 80s Southern American Alternative Rock band R. E. M. brings you a Vietnam protest song. "Orange Crush" Their music is timeless.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mSmOcmk7uQ

And their 1994 awesome song "Crush with Eyeliner" supposedly inspired by the exaggerated mannerisms of 1970s New York band "New York Dolls"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycvJHQUqU1M

I don't know what these guys were thinking. They needed to come up with a video quick, but they only had whatever they could find in the office to dress the lead singer. Looks to me like 1980 Los Angeles New Wave pop to me. Missing Persons' "Words"

The only guy I know who could make a song about a stalker sound romantic. The Police: "Every Breath You Take"

And more from Los Angeles... Commercialized culturally insensitive dribble sung by hot chicks with sexy voices: The Bangles' "Walk like an Egyptian"

A bit of Roaring 20's Punk by the adorable Siouxie and the Banshees. Another timeless band.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nAON-MwUPY

2 to 3  decade old musical hyperfemininity by the Scottish band Cocteau Twins. Still sounds fresh today.  Smiley

I abortively played blues harmonica years and years ago ('way back in the 80s),  gave it up for a long time for reasons. Now I'm getting back into it. Been watching this guy (Adam Gussow)'s instructional videos; I apparently lost some of what I knew back when I had pneumonia, so I needed a few reminders on technique, etc.

Here's a music video he did of himself a while back...
