I'm just clarifying, but what exactly do you mean by diesel punk? surely you're not referring to those of the lesbian persuasion? Huh

Not at all, Sir Boris. Dieselpunk is sort of the mad uncle of steampunk, the one we rarely talk about due to his proclivities. He just lives 50 years ahead of us and spends his time tinkering with engines and leather trench coats. Quite harmless otherwise.

Sir Cogsworth:

Dieselpunk is to the 1920's-1940's what Steampunk is to the Victorian Era / Gilded Age / Meiji Period.  Does that make sense?  Lost of Aluminium, Steel, Chrome, Granite, Cement, Diesel Engines, Art-Deco, and yes, all that Jazz (literally).

Here's a Dieselpunk forum equivalent to our own: http://www.ottens.co.uk/gatehouse/category/dieselpunk/

http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Dieselpunk_by_hayenmill2_8470.jpg

we had one or two Dieselpunk threads around here id I could just find them... Ah! here we go -
I think this is one of the deeper threads on that subject:
http://brassgoggles.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,8047.0.html

We have an abandoned thread in the Meta Clubs section for those of the Diesel persuasion:
The Deco Lounge
http://brassgoggles.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,38409.0.html

Here's an explanation I gave some time ago about an idea I had for a Dieselpunk scenario in the Steampunk Mexico forum:

As far as Steampunks of the Lesbian persuasion, we are an all inclusive community, you may find them among many others in the Queer Geer thread, also in the Meta Clubs section  Grin  http://brassgoggles.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,20391.0.html

Persons intending to travel by open carriage should select a seat with their backs to the engine, by which means they will avoid the ashes emitted therefrom, that in travelling generally, but particularly through the tunnels, prove a great annoyance; the carriage farthest from the engine will in consequence be found the most desirable.

They Might Be Giants - Tesla (official video)

I've never been sure about Tesla - the list of his achievements in this would seem to imply that he was the death knell of the steampunk period of the Victorian era. On the other hand he was an exemplary mad scientist...

Clearing out some of my old videos; added this one to youtube, then listened several times, then played along. Love this song. And I know the musicians, too! Well, two of 'em, anyway...
