Oh  have some imagination. Its up to the reader to fill in the gaps with their own  form of steampunk interior and workings.

Personally I would  go for a castle  with industrial refurb.

This a pretty impressive riverboat for $200K.  It seems to be located in Kentucky(?)

I think that I would have to upgrade the spaceheater to at least an electric fireplace to match the room:

And replace the painted ceiling tiles with unpainted copper and oiled wood wainscoting:

Casino.  Traditional floating casino.   Wink

The official answer is whatever bathtub my lovely wife wants.  Possibly copper since they are lighter than cast iron claw-footed tubs and are supposed to keep water cleaner and hotter longer.

I would prefer a very modern multi-head steam sauna shower with TV, tanning lamps, stereo, and speaker phone like these:  http://www.aliexpress.com/popular/steam-shower-with-tv.html

Exactly why do bathtubs not come with built in heaters standard?Huh

Or you and your good wife could compromise.

I have searched high a low for an image on google over the years.  It is a art nouveau  copper shower  enclosure / canopy shower in bronze or copper worked in a design of large scales or scallops.

It featured in the original Alfie movie and  in a British crime boss movie in the 90's with Malcom Mc Dowel.

A bigger , flasher  beaten copper version of this type of thing

I think for any house, and such might be applicable to other various things such as airships and other large transports, would be the inclusion of dumb-waiters but just not those as being typically recognized.

The truly well-appointed residence would have several sorts of dumb-waiters found there and abouts the residence, such being of different sizes and locations for individual tasks and purposes.

Clever might be such configured to outwardly appear as a armoire but have the 'hidden' feature of support by way of a 'local' dumb-waiter to change out the wardrobe's contents, be that seasonal clothing or trays of refreshments and hors d'oeuvres.

One might even have a small-scaled elevator disguised behind a wall panel to whisk servants between floors or give the home-owner a low-profile means to slip away from guests to a more comfortable setting.

Just finished going back over some of the more recent images and, as to the tree house, there is a wonderful show on TV called Treehouse Masters. I hope that it is available wherever you may live. I'm constantly amazed at the never ending variety of designs Pete Nelson comes up with. I just wish I had the kind of money that one of them would cost.

Some folks here have been able to afford incredible houses by working for lumber yards that give them employee discounts.  I have heard that one chain, Lowes, allows employees to use part of their retirement contributions to buy building materials.  Sometimes there are creative solutions.

Ah, if I could only live in an airship. As for a classic Victorian home, I'd probably go for something like this:

Is that one of those Californian homes ? There is some wonderful examples that are kept well restored.

I heard Dracula's castle is up for sale, though. Too rich for me. :[
At any rate, my second would be a victorian manor house and third would be a prehistoric cave or a train.
