Hey guys,

I wanted to see what you all think of a new song I'm working on. It's called "The Maiden Flight of the H.M.A. Redemption". The theme is a journey on an airship.

It's far from done, but I figured it might be nice to get some ideas from my fellow community members before I start working on the rest of it.

Just give me your general thoughts on it? It's much more light and uplifting than most of my older work. It dos get more ominous towards the end (which will actually be the middle in the finished version) as the listener enters a storm front. But that's the only dark part. After that section it will get bombastic, and very wagner/mahler inspired.

Gilded Age Records is a collective of like minded Indie artists, all unified by a common 19th Century/Steampunk theme.

I like it so far. It sounds very optimistic, and peaceful - like I'd imagine the maiden flight would be.

I like it, but I feel like it's missing something, the low thumping/thurming sounds of the engines maybe? Like you have in the begining but lower so it's almost insted of heard? As it stand right now It reminds me very much of The Dig, that old lucas arts adventure game.

The word pagan came from paganus , who mean peasant . Its was a way to significate than christianism was the religion of the elite and paganism the one of the savage worker class.

''Trickster shows us how we trick OURSELVES. Her rampant curiosity backfires, but, then, something NEW is discovered (though usually not what She expected)! This is where creativity comes from—experiment, do something different, maybe even something forbidden, and voila! A breakthrough occurs! Ha! Ha! We are released! The world is created anew! Do something backwards, break your own traditions, the barrier breaks; destroy the world as you know it, let the new in.''

Yeah I was thinking of dropping out most of the sound but the engines between the two upbeat drum parts.

And to answer the question about the end, yes it is darker, because in the song, the story goes from a uplifting pretty flying sound, to an ominous darker style as the ship enters a storm front (you can hear the rain swell up). But what is the end of the song now, will actually be the middle. The end is going to be really bombastic and dramatic, like the climax of a symphony.

I like it a lot. I really dig the engine sounds in the beginning, approve strongly of adding more of that. I can't wait to hear the rest of the song!

I like what you've got so far, but do think that these additions will definitely help round it out.
