I do enjoy being a parade float.  I actually had someone that is on project runway come up to me and talk about how she was always interested to see what I came up with so it was pretty neat.

Was finally able to put an outfit together that I wore to a friend's gathering at the end of September.

That's a lovely composition, and a nicely matching corset and jacket to boot!

Thank you both!  The corset and jacket are from Damsel in this Dress, acquired from one of her fantastic Black Friday sales.  I really lucked out with those!  Smiley  I just hadn't had a reason to wear them together until this year.  I hope to find more reasons to wear them.     Grin

I agree Ms. Koeta, that's a lovely picture. At least you had a real Autumnal setup. Down here in Texas, it seems Autumn in October is a distant memory. It's the middle of November and we're barely getting our Autumn. Winter will probably go AWOL once again.

And the cravat as well! The colour combination with the waistcoat is a good one.

Thankfully the end of September was gorgeous weather for the shoot, if a bit windy.  But the fall colours up here in Canada are lovely.  Wink  Now all we have is white as the snow came far too early.  But I'm sure any darker-toned outfits would look fabulous against that, although many layers would be required to keep the cold out!

The gloves and cravat make such an awesome touch, Caledonian!

Indeed, the cravat and gloves really do make the outfirt, but there's also the really cool shades too! They work really well on the topper.

That's it - I'm going to buy a hat. I've had my eye on a nice wool top hat for some time now, but not being a dress-up Steampunk I have not had the nerve to buy it. Miranda and Caledonian, you are an inspiration!

Thank you; I'm really pleased you'll soon have your first piece of Steampunk sartorial fun and of course once you have the hat, then you've all the fun of adorning it with steamy frivolity  Grin .

Miranda.

Hmm... I'm a bit worried now that this Steampunk 'gearing up' may become an obsession?  Wink

Well, to get back a bit of wardrobe space I'm having to store some a number of items (such as petticoats) in vacuum bags  Roll Eyes

Here's a piccy from the Shrewsbury Steampunk Spectacular a couple of weeks ago. I wasn't going to put this up as it's a bit similar to ones I've posted in the past but with a recent comment on another thread from the esteemed Admiral Wilhelm concerning 'bustle mini-skirts' I just couldn't resist  Grin

Yep. I said that, I did. Great as always Miranda! Let the Mini Skirt reign!

I'm still waiting to finish that hat, but I may post updated pictures of my uniform. Sadly, so much time has passed since I first bought them (2 years now), that the "Lederhosen" are now old enough to start taking in a wee bit of fading (as all Denim should). I'm considering doing a quick re-dye of the shorts in Black... The alternative is to buy a second pair and only dry-clean the garment!

I was going to try to come up with an eloquently-worded reply but I thought my point might be more clear if I just said "AHHHHHHHH Miranda you look so good!!! WERK that bustle mini-skirt, girl!!!! ~^o^~" like the piece of internet refuse I am.

But wouldn't the fading add a some character to the uniform? After all, spending long periods of time aloft within an airship would have to have some effect on the aeronauts' apparel?

Thank you! I believe Charles Dickens used a very similar phrase in the never published ending for The Mystery of Edwin Drood...  Wink

True. I have not decided to do anything yet. Too busy with the hat, which is nearly finished.
