There`s some rumours flying around (at Sherlockology and Bakerstreet Babes) that filming of BBC Sherlock season 3 might be pushed back until march 2013. If true, they`re probably (hopefully!) still sticking to the whole airing-in-fall thing, but with some bad luck it might be 2014 before we get a 3rd series.

The BBC still needs to confirm/deny, so let`s hope these rumours aren`t true.

Cumberbatch, Freeman, Moffat and Gatiss all will sit around twiddling their thumbs then!

Moffat is probably still working on Doctor Who, Freeman is Bilbo in The Hobbit, Cumberbatch is rumoured to be in Star Trek 2 (Keith Urban said in an interview he'll be Gary Mitchel), and I have no idea what Gatiss is up to.  He can maybe handle the thumb twiddling by himself?  Smiley

They are all equally busy. Gatiss is constantly making, writing, acting on TV and Radio.

Just popped round the corner to the newsagents and there's a crowd opposite 'Speedy's Sandwich Bar' off Euston Road watching the filming of an episode of  'Sherlock'.

Why can`t John know anything?

Because it has to be believable, that he is mourning for Sherlock and he is too honest, to fake that in an authentic way. He'd botch it up, eventually.

Yeah... and because it's canon, and although they play about with canon, I think they stick to it for the big things.

I really hope Moriarty is dead, I can't stand him!

Tend to agree about Moffat trying to be too clever - I wasn't keen on all the plots, but I love the two leads and the dialogue and relationship between them. Also Gatiss as Mycroft.

Just found this in my feedreader and had to share:

he looks like a villain in that photo...... also reminds me a bit of snape.

I've always said that Cumberbatch would be the ideal choice for Snape if they were casting the films now. Alan Rickman is brilliant, but really too old for the part. Cumberbatch would be wonderful. Watch the opening scene of - I think it's The Blind Banker - the one which starts with Sherlock correcting a criminal's grammar, anyway - with your eyes closed. Benedict says something like "Just tell me exactly what happened" and he sounds exactly like Alan Rickman  Grin

Though I didn't like season 2 as much as I did season 1 when they FINALLY showed it here in the US (I only really LOVED the Irene Adler episode), I'm really looking forward to season 3.

That would be "The Great Game", Series 1, Episode 3.

It's that nasal element. I don't think he sounds exactly like Alan Rickman, but I can definitely see where you're coming from.

Thank you, it's good to know I'm not the only one  Cheesy

You can also find bits of him on YouTube etc where he's deliberately impersonating Alan Rickman, and other people - he's a good mimic.

Yes, filming has started on Season 3.  Producers have begged fans who are in London to not photograph the scenes being filmed for fear of spoilers getting out before the season airs.

But Moffat said - I think I read this somewhere - that the reunion of the boys would not be per the books, so no fainting on John's part.

Cumberbatch says he's on board for a 4th season, but Moffat isn't committing to one.

I'd be fairly sure that John's first response would be to hit Sherlock hard.

Agree.  A bit of a row should take place.  John is no stranger to brawling with Sherlock,

"Punch me in the face."

"What?"

"Didn't you hear me?  I said 'punch me in the face'."

"I always hear 'punch me in the face' when you're speaking but it's usually subtext."

I just read that Elementary, Sherlocks poor American cousin, has been renewed for a second series.
So it looks as though there will be plenty of 20th Century Holmes on our screen next year.

I still find it funny that the American series still has a British lead man. Maybe one day I'll get round to watching it...

It's entertaining. Despite the obvious change of setting and gender of Watson it retains the basic elements of Sherlock's character traits. Not a patch on Brett or Cumberbatch but the good thing is you don't have to choose. I watch them all.
