Only managed to do a little more, mainly involving removing the 0.05mm styrene from the sides of the terrain (it was too thin, and i used a filler that basically melted it!), and replaceing it with 0.75mm styrene, looks much neater now. I also tried a new colour for the rock:

(I believe that one of the 'improvements' to Photobucket is that you can 'click' on the picture and see it bigger)

More soon!

I would have thought Mars would be more chocolate and caramel flavoured?

I've got some model railway ballast, I may utilise that too!

Yes, but we're still no closer to establishing how it tastes. Do we have any volunteers stupid brave enough to find out?

Just been looking up Uranus and according to Wikipedia Uranus has a ring! I was unaware of that. Has anyone else seen the ring around Uranus?

For Satellite 4 they were promoting at Novacon that con with a cheap Orrery, the planets were detachable and I started putting sweets on where the planets went,  a loveheart for Venus, a jelly baby for Earth, a celebrations Mars Bar for Mars, a sherbert flying saucer for Saturn, a gobstopper for Jupiter, a fishermans friend for Neptune.

Uranus was a Guylian chocolate and praline starfish.

I think we can draw a line under the taste issue now

Well, I'm glad that's out of the way, even though it leaves a nasty taste in the mouth.

Moving on: I couldn't leave those three glowing eyes as they were, so I've sculpted a little Martian:

Here he/she/it is with the eyes aglow:

With the LEDs at full power, without a limiting resistor, it causes the whole cave to glow, allowing a partial sighting of the creature to be made.

I have some old potatoes that are starting to look like that. I wonder if I could somehow seal and paint them to create a race of alien creatures.

Excellent Martian, Ian.

Great paint job, Dok...

Thank you!

I must admit that it has been a long, looooong, time since I sculpted things like this- once upon a time, I made action figures, the Simpsons, Ren and Stimpy, even Dr Who ones, as prototypes for toy companies, and I did wonder if I could still do it...

So, once again, Steampunk has forced me to do something new, er, again- and I can still do it! Hooray!

Of course he didn't run around. He obviously devised some kind of contraption to do it for him.  Grin
