Bad form: double post, sorry- thought you might like to see the artwork for one half of the mesh floor:

Used up some of the space for dials and gauges, along with some "Herr Döktor's Laboratory" plates.

Glad you approve, Captain!

Tonight, after 24 hours of being in a tank of saltwater, it's alive! IT'S ALIVE!! ALIVE!!!

er, I mean the first set of etchings is done:

And in place:

It's a little ragged in places, but the process stopped and started a bit due to having to modify how the power was supplied, but it's all running smoothly now, and the second fret's in the tank!

You should really treat us to the original vector file. I like the gauges very much, and would like to experiment a bit.

Well, since you asked so nicely, here's the vector drawing in SVG format:

The gauges look even more impressive in vector graphics. I'd have expected nothing less from a man of your talent. Outstanding craftsmanship and attention to detail, Sir!

Dear Cog, man — next you'll be complaining about having to re-source the cockpit upholstery fabric, as the original contractor was unable to supply the required quantities! Cheesy

Herr Döktor,

I must congratulate you sir. I have been following the progress on your tripod model, and every step of the way you have taken construction to a more fantastically detailed level. The etched grating! Goodness, my geeky little heart is all a flutter. I cannot wait to see where next you take this build.

So here I sit, with the giant plotter behind me, ready to cut masking tape for the gauges. Wish me luck.

Not really had much time to work on this of late- but I have been experimenting with the etching- it's not good, I'm investigating etching suppliers as I type!

All I have really done is put in three 'ports' on the upper surface:

Each will have a weapon, probably in a moving ball joint, one to be an Earthly take on a heat-ray, another to be an ordinary cannon, and the third...
Well, I'll just have to come up with something!

I would have to second the Hotchkiss; either that or a minigun.
Something with multiple barrels!

It was never boy scouts, that's an urban myth.

It was suffragettes.

Why not just do it dalek style and add a large toilet plunger!

Looking excellent as ever Herr Doktor; I love the detail on the engines and legs. Just out if interest, is the top half fixed or will it rotate to give the best positioning of weaponry?

For that third spot, how about an arm?

And of course a hand, with fully jointed fingers, so he can wave around an officer's sabre. Grin

Or multiple hands, each holding a different tool, so it can be self repairing?
