Ooh. They're lovely. I shall have to have a look at those. Permission to tweak colours and suchlike, for purely personal uses?

i dont care

hey, if you would post them back on here id be curious Wink on how you would personalize/improve them. thanks

I'd just be tweaking the hue/saturation a little, going for a slight purplish tinge, that sort of thing. Nothing exciting. Looking at it so far, its not that effective either. They don't look as close to fabric as I thought they might. I'll keep tweaking and see what happens though.

Oh, don't get me wrong, they're lovely wallpapers, just that I haven't been able to tweak them in the manner I hoped, to work with the other images on my monitor.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Current wallpaper.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Wallpaper using your textures. (I had to put the white areas in to fit around the two-monitor setup I use.)

It looks good, just not quite... right, if you know what I mean.

it is a msstyle i had modified, cant distribute it legally with out permission though... and depending on what service pack your running you can patch your uxtheme.dll file. you definitely need to follow the directions...

here is where you can get the uxtheme patchers:
http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/OS-Enhancements/UXTheme-MultiPatcher.shtml
that is an all inclusive windows theme patcher....

this is where you can get themes, be very carful and back up your original files...:

http://browse.deviantart.com/customization/skins/windows/visualstyle/?order=5
http://customize.org/browse/tags/msstyles
http://www.crystalxp.net/galerie/en.cat.3.html
http://www.belchfire.net/xp-themes.html

beware be very careful.... those are my known safe sites. if it looks fishy like wants you to use a execution file, it probably has a virus or adware.

to install themes,
open up my computer>c:\>Windows>Resources>Themes

that is where you extract the individual theme folder containing the msstyle.

hope that helps

please dont forget how i walked you through retoring your computer incase anything bad happens.

side note, windowblinds by star dock uses allot of you computers resources and costs an a$$ load of money, the uxtheme patching is the most efficient way to go if it can work and is free.

yah, tried the uxpatcher earlier and it did HORRIBLE things to my computer.  I'm not going to mess with that again.  Oh well.

windowblinds aver very visually asthetic if you want to spend the money... and are very reliable. most the bugs have been worked out.

P.S. The Antique theme looks good with Old medieval Sam window border! which I saw here somewhere.

I have just come across a site called Alphacoders. I performed a search of BG and it did not pop-up as being mentioned.
There are some steamy wallpapers there. I am still looking and I have download at least six so far. Most are not labeled as Steam punk - I am still wadding through Sci-fi Cities.

Yes, I thought so (I also have the theme little modified  Smiley )

But how did you managed to place so many manometers and clocks on the desktop? I mean what utility did you use?

By the way, if these clocks aren´t here already http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Anticko+Clock?content=121574 be sure to check them out.

you can add as many of the same screenlets as you like just double click on it in the screenlets manager, then you can go ingto the manometer (right click the one on the screen) properties settings and choose what information you want displayed. i have a quad core cpu so i used cpu manometer for each, the i used the netmeter up and down.
