Infinity Mirror Illusion!DQ

The word pagan came from paganus , who mean peasant . Its was a way to significate than christianism was the religion of the elite and paganism the one of the savage worker class.

''Trickster shows us how we trick OURSELVES. Her rampant curiosity backfires, but, then, something NEW is discovered (though usually not what She expected)! This is where creativity comes from—experiment, do something different, maybe even something forbidden, and voila! A breakthrough occurs! Ha! Ha! We are released! The world is created anew! Do something backwards, break your own traditions, the barrier breaks; destroy the world as you know it, let the new in.''

This circular infinity mirror would be perfect behind a 5-leaf iris shutter.

I wonde,r if you used two offset rows of LED's instead of one, would you get a spiralling tunnel effect?

I don't think so; I think you'd just get a sort of wave pattern. Interesting idea, though.

you'd get two set of rows of offset lights.

edit

however if you added some electronics to get each row to flash on  and off in sequence you could get some effects

you can have the rear mirror slightly off parallel to create a bend. Rotate this mirror and you have a rotating bend.

When you do this effect with camera and tv screen you have a small delay. Having flickering leds can create the lights going into the tunnel.

You can also make the rear mirror a seethrugh mirror and place an object behind this mirror. When you illuminate the object, it shows trugh the mirrors. Creating the illusion of the object inside a endless tunnel.

But to my knowledge, there is no way you can make the lights spiral down the tunnel.

Interesting. Mr C pulled this bad boy out of a skip, and I would LOVE to make it into an occult study instrument....

I had a string of xmas lights with a controller so it could flash in a few different patterns.

I made an xmas sign for a buddy of mine who is into oldsmobiles. it says "64 olds Xmas"
it was a real pita to divide up the lights for all  the letters and put them in an order so the would flash properly, and hide all the extra wire. I drilled a butload of holes and still managed to end up with two extra lights (which I just stuff under the board with all the extra wire)

it's old school bulbs but changing them out isn't all that hard unless you manage to drop the socket under the board.

the new LED style should be much easier to work with.

oooh nice find, Darkshines, but be careful of the HV circuit. you can mount a computer screen in there for effect. is that paint all over the cabinet? pity but if its latex you might be able to get it clean without ruining the finish too much.

what if you use mylar film for the back mirror? you could deflect it and bulge it with air pressure, maybe even make it ripple.

Instructables is generally a good starting place for this sort of thing.
