The Amber Automaton,
So how did it go? Has the 2 days turned into 2 months like so many of my projects? Wink

Wilma Deering action figure; based on the 1920's era Buck Rogers comic strip. Figure to be produced in a small run for the collectors' market.

Just saw the new movie "Tomorrowland"  Rocket packs figure prominently in it, starting with a nice pack made from two Electrolux vacuums.

looks like a bunch of rc type high output electrics probably with a very high output lithium battery, probably wouldn't have flown much longer with the power needed. pretty smart flying over water, not sure what he took off from, a rock? it would seem an overhead array with a gimbaled harness and some sort of tiller control could be doable. it wouldn't be a hoverboard and wouldn't get much help from ground effects (or hindrance, for that matter) but could be fun to buzz around with, even if only for less than a minute.

I can see the commercial already..."IT SLICES AND DICES, AND MAKES MOUNDS OF JULLIENE LENNON!!!" ouch. Wink

Here are some shots just before packing it up for the steampunk show in Hampton, VA.  Still needs the straps.  Basic ones will be on before the show.

Many thanks.

I should point out some features. The on/off is the handle at the top. The knurled knows on each of the rockets are trim adjustment.
The control handle has a pressure gauge.

Any questions?
