Reminded by another thread to put this in this thread with the rest of the great rocket packs.

It is made from a D.B. Smith Indian water tank for fighting forest fires.  Three nozzles for propulsion, plasma powered, with built in iPod speaker.  The control handle sits on top when not on your back.  The piece can be plugged into AC power when it on display or unplugged it runs on batteries allowing you to wear it around your grocery store or steampunk event.  Two battery packs keep the iPod speaker and plasma disk separated.  Relatively light weight. Any questions.

Is this so one can have appropriate, stirring, heroic music playing while one is rocketing through the skies?

Nice build..and practical to boot.

Mine's a sarsaparilla/strawberry crush please!  (Portable ice holder with three taps for different beverages methinks.)

Really nice job.

You mean other than 'Can I steal it?' no, none at all. That sir, is highly impressive.

Some small progress with my pack, I finally got hold of the type of old spark plug I have been after for some time. It has mica layers to makeup the insulation and naturally did not fit , yay!
Much fun was had adapting it to fit. I have to say I am not a natural with a lathe, but got there in the end.

With that said, not able to find a globe valve the size I need I am making one of those too. Next stop find a set of 1BA taps

Why thank you. that's how I want it to look, as if it could work. Well you know what I mean.  It amazes me the number of non-steamy types my wife has said "Oh that's his rocket pack he's making" too and they just go "Oh OK . . .  will it fly? Lol.

Yes, activated by a bloody big hammer!

Or, an ill-considered sneeze.

While I'm here.

Major Kudos to Professor Elliott on his new Rocket Pack.

It looks even better in the flesh than it does in the pictures.

Which is saying something.
