Hello! i dont know if i am the only one having this problem, but most gears from clockwork and similar devices have the brass gears and wheels mounted on axles. laying them on a flat surface and hammering on the axle should get it out, but especially the smaller parts tend to get terribly deform, and hammering them flat again often makes scratches and wont make them as plain as before.

Does anyone have advices or methods for this?

how big are the gears you are working with?  There are gear pullers or shaft pullers designed for bicycle gears, and there may be similar tools used in watch making.
A shaft puller uses a screw to apply pressure on an Axel to separate it from a gear or gears.

What's the shaft diameter?

Here's a simple gear puller design. Gear pullers for 1mm to 5mm shafts are available from hobby suppliers for RC cars and aircraft. Smaller than that, you'll have to look at watch gear pullers, which are expensive.

I have a jewelers anvil with a small hole in it. Place the gear over the hole with the axle sticking into the hole itself, lightly tap the other end of the axle with a hammer until it slides loose. Finish by pulling the now loosened axle out with pliers.

Instead of a jewelers anvil you can also use a bench vise or pliers opened just far enough to let the axle slide freely.

thanks, ill try to make a gear puller! - ive tried laying them over something with a hole in and tapping them loose, but that seem to bend them..

First off it really depends on how the gear is attached to the staff. In better made movements they are made to be repaired and are attached in a different manner , cheaper movements the may even be cast in place , these are more difficult to remove without damaging the gear. Watch and clock makers have special tools to perform this task, and sometimes a lathe is used to remove the staked hub. Essentially a tool that holds special punches perpendicular to a plate with holes varying in size. The device concentrates the applied forces exactly where they are needed while supporting the gear and preventing force to be transmitted to the outside of the gear thus preventing it from bending. This device is called a staking tool if you wish to look it up. The sets are quite expensive , but you can fake up the tools you require if you find a site that shows it's use. this one is difficult to explain due to so many variations, try googling actual watch and clock sites with keywords mentioned here

Industrial pullers usually apply force too far from the hub to be useful on thin clock gears.
