This is a pencil case i bought in spain (Granada to be more specific) from a store with a gypsy looking sells-woman.  I think I must have baught this for 500pesetas (less then 5 Euros). I find it useful, but i might make another for my geometry using the same design as this one.

i can fit 2 pecils on the top level with a a flat eraser and maybe a compas or a few more pencils in the bottom section. it has some two brass strips and the semy circle at each end and a skull in teh middle.
