My 1915-ish Kays Perfection pocket watch is losing about 5 minutes over 24 hours.  Can anyone tell me why this might be and how to fix it?

When was the last time the watch has been cleaned/oiled?  If it has been a while (5+ years) or you don't know for sure then that would probably be the first culprit to eliminate.  I'd see if you could find a decent watchmaker to look at it for you.

Right, thanks.  It hasn't been cleaned or oiled for at least 8 years and possibly longer so I'll try that.
