Author Topic: Help / Advice why ladies pocket watch stopping?  (Read 877 times)

Hoping someone can shed some light on the possible cause.

Watch works when it is laying flat, but when I put it upright or move it - stops.  When I put it back down and give it a little spin it starts up again.

I am assuming something is misaligned, but wondering whether I could fix it (admittedly all thumbs) or if I should send to someone?  Is there a logical place to start based on this behaviour? Are these expensive to fix?

It is a small sterling New England Watch company pocket watch.  Very nice condition only 1 1/4 inches across so a perfect size for me.

Any advice?  Photos below.
