Well, as I ripped apart one of my own light fixtures to be reformed into something steamy, I decided to check the manufacturer's website to see if I could buy any more of the lights. (I won the original fixture in a raffle) Sadly I couldn't find any, but I came across something that I think would look incredible on a powered raygun:

Most of their other stuff isn't great, but these bulbs were really fantastic. The light I was taking apart is basically one of these bulbs, but circular and mounted inside a plastic light bulb shaped clock. I would steam up the clock, but I thought of a better use for the light. A lightning cannon, more pics on that later. Smiley

I thought it was a cool bulb when I saw it at Science and Surplus, but the big plastic hand would have to go!

There's the light bulb clock I have. I suppose I just breezed by it when I was looking at the HPI site.

Edit: What? it comes with that goofy plastic hand? I thought that was just a silly graphic on the website. T_Q

There are so many things I would order from this site, if only they sold to consumers directly.

I like the "plasma mug". Come to think of it, you could build that into a ray gun, as well.

I'm afraid so.  They carry it at Science and Surplus and the picture of it (and catalog description) show the hand http://www.sciplus.com

Perhaps one could mod it to pass it off as a hand of glory? A little paint to make it look dead and dessicated. Just a thought in case the hand will not come loose without destroying it.
