I decided to borrow this movie off my brother last night after reading someone was too lazy to do the research.  Good movie.  What did you guys think of it when it came out?

I found it painfully bad and without merit.

I liked it. Smiley I always get a slight claustrophobic feel from any movie set in the past of a religious/cultish group of people. Mainly because I grew up without such restrictions. I liked the setting and the twist at the end even though I saw it coming beforehand, was nicely handled. Smiley

I thought it was reasonably good; not a great film but fairly enjoyable; quite creepy in parts. Yes I worked out the big secret like a lot of people but you can do that in 90% of films.

Yes, one of those first five minutes 'oh, it's not going to be xxxx is it?' ... get to the end of the film 'oh, it was' films.  Undecided

The trouble with M. Night Shamalamadingdong's films is that we are now aware that they all come with an (alleged) 'twist ending'. So, ever since Sixth Sense (which I also sussed out about 20 mins in) people are looking for the twist. They don't take anything seen or heard at face value and so the 'twist' is never a 'surprise'.
He should make a film where the 'twist' is...there is no twist and everything you see and hear in the film is exactly what it appears to be. That'll  catch people out!

Have to say, I never liked The Sixth Sense, tried three times to watch it all the way through but couldn`t. I`m a horrible person! I can`t stand cute kids in movies.  Embarrassed
And also prefer Bruce Willis in his action movies, much like I disliked Arnie when he did Kindergarten Cop.
