There's an entire thread in Anatomical (the preferred board for food- & drink-related discussions) devoted to Absinthe, the Green Fairy, as well as The Beer Thread and the more-general What's Your Poison? (although none of them has seen much activity recently.)

For personal preference, di Saronno Amaretto, or what my grandmother would have drank....a good sherry, port or brandy.

Gin. I prefer Hendricks, but Bombay Saphire is a close second.
Hendricks entire ad campaign is heavily Victorian in look & feel, but Bombay has a picture of Victoria I herself right on the label.
Plus, i love swilling gin. Makes me feel quite... cosmopolitan.

Pusser's Rum, it's distilled in wooden stills rather than the more efficient copper.

Or
No offense, please, but that brew is not really the best that California has to offer. I prefer Arrogant Bastard Ale from Stone Brewing for a great California brew. That aside ... A good whiskey such as Jack Daniels in a small water glass. Barley Wine - nice and bitter with the kick of a mule thrown in for good measure. Gran Marnier (sp??) - I love oranges. Absynthe - if I've got nothing to do for a day or two. Cheers (pop, fizz, clink)

Perry (pear cider) comes pretty close, but standard cider recently became a LOT more steamy.

Kopperburg mixed fruits cider is very, very refreshing and at 4% abv as strong as an average lager. However it tastes like Ribena and goes down a treat! Just don't pour it in to a glass..well, unless you want to stand in the pub with a pint of pink fizzy!! Surprised no one has yet mentioned

Surprised no one has yet mentioned I found the Crabbies to be predominantly flavoured by artificial sweeteners, may I suggest instead Naylors Brewery's Ginger Beer.

25 year old Talisker - yum ! My dear Professor, there appears to be a serious problem with your bottle of uisge beatha. The seal is unbroken and therefore the quality has not been checked, a situation I would be very pleased to remedy for you. On rare occaisions a second or third bottle may be required for quality assurance purposes. One would rather you did not suffer an inferior bottle (I have dedicated a number of years researching this issue, as I have yet to discover an inferior bottle of Talisker, the odds of one being found in the wild are rising) Mnemoria

25 year old Talisker - yum ! A man of taste. I`m a fan of a good bottle of Glenmorangie myself, and having resided in Orkney for a couple of decades, Highland Park. (though from personal experience I can advise staying away from this stuff...
