Changed my post; got a little too used to making huge entries for a while on another RP. Fun, but it doesn't fit in an RP with more than two people.

Gawd its good to RP with you folks again.

No, I'm not railing at you through Percy, VAP;); it's in character, as is Percy's rather bloody-minded approach to obstacles. Percy's just a mouthy old git himself (somewhat like a certain other slightly-old fellow)...

Hey I'm a flexible GM, as well as being an evil one. You can pull off ridiculous feats of action... but I will respond in turn. >: D

I see your cutlass through the chest and raise you a burning building.

Haha, what's the fun of having grizzled veteran characters if the shit don't hit the fan to make things interesting?  Grin

I'll be out as well this afternoon and evening; going to a 'gun show' with dulcimer society friends and then a gig in the late afternoon and evening.

Name: The Wanderer, but will acknowledge any name you give him, aslong as it's not insulting to him (and don't call him Shirley Wink )

Age: 30ish?

Occupation: Wandering/story teller/seller & barterer of pre-event items

Appearance: Very pale, almost 8ft tall, very very muscular (like the barbarians, in pre-event films/books). Covered in tattoos, some of ancient designs (from around the world), a few arcane and some seemingly random ones. thick silver waist length hair, usually plaited and wrapped around his head

Nationality: He's silent about that. but is literate in serveral languages (including most UK dialects) & the customs of many groups

Weapon of Choice: 2 Ôdachi style swords (uses both together), double length longbow. Dislikes the use of "modern weapons" as he thinks there is no honour in using them. A carnyx blown before dusk and dawn.

Attire: Thick lightweight lacquered armour made from plants in a mixture of styles, layers of silk/cotton underneath, a cloak & turban & night vison goggles

Background: Nobody is sure. He tells people with a laugh, that "He fell from the sky". To some...he is a ancient warrior reborn, others say he's sun touched & mad from believing in his many stories of pre-event stories. He is silent about his past. Shy around women. Sometimes plays dumb, simple & the fool with adults, but not with kids (will happily sit in the dirt playing & talking about the pre-event world with a small child for hours on end). Has a few camels machanical walkers (and a big desert cat somewhere in the vicinity).  Is known of by small nomadic groups-some avoid him, others welcome him. Has a strange code of honour & morals.

(wrote this before the mention of "phantom cats"  Smiley )

Could someone do map/s of the post-event world (including areas where we're playing and the areas we will be going)?

We're currently near (if I'm not mistaken) the southern borders of RL Lancashire and Yorkshire, just leaving an atrium called "Sherwood, " which I think is supposedly in about the same place as the pre-modern forest of that name. VAP can fill in about the rest, he's th eGM. I'm just a busybody (LOL Cheesy).

Well, Sherwood is probably actually closer to the ruins of what would have been Nottingham. That can be used as a vague marker for location.

Also, MW, your character seems decent, but I'm wondering where he got camels from? I don't recall those ever being existent in England.  Undecided

Maybe from a long-forgotten Pre-Event menagerie? A bit of a stretch, but...

I think the colors on the wind is an altered form of semaphore code.  It fits with Miri's sea going history.

That works for me, I think I put a mast on in the pic. Even if I didn't, it'd fit with a pre-radio technology, so just assume a single sloop-rigged mast and string 'em up...

Well for my part I can't really post anything without being redundant until something happens.. Harris is driving and keeping an eye out.. not much more I can say until something changes.

Hmmm...lol...maybe its my fault its been so silent ...

Maybe rogue walker tanks/tracked tanks running around on steam left over, their pilots dead after a battle, in keeping with the season?

Perhaps a certain old feline picks up their trail and follows the rig?

If anybody has a better way to handle the newest complication, tell about it and I'll rewrite to suit. I 'm actually not entirely sure that Harris would stop, or that Percy would make him turn back or whatever...

Hehe, Harris may be pretty cold on the battlefield but he's not a total prick... now if the guy had have been waving a gun at them... well... I don't think I need to go into that.

Was as I was making my post that I realized no-ones told Harris about the rig's new name yet. Or at least not when he's properly conscious anyway lol.

Hehehe, that was a fun post. Hope I didn't take things too far there, basically had it have been a modern vehicle then it would have taken off like a scolded cat, but given the tech level the rig simply wouldn't be able to move like that so more of a very, very rough start.

Simply put Harris set up what many rigs would have needed to do to stop in time and backed up the boiler and engine somewhat without first dropping the intakes to the main boiler.

And I knew that Percy would hit on right away with what Harris had planned.

Hmmm... I was actually just hoping the lurching would throw the Yorkies off of the rig, but the current outcome will suit just fine. Assuming the Yorkies are now headbanged into the same state, more or less, as the Begoggled One, I suppose we ought to patch 'em all up, get a destination from one of the soldiers, and drop 'em off at the nearest column, post, or Medical Unit...
