Today I did one of my twice weekly car runs to take my Mother-In-Law and some of her old lady friends to thier club.
When I returned to pick them up one of the old dears banged her forehead on the doorjam trying to get in, fell backwards and was heading for a nasty meeting of head and pavement.
So, I stepped forward and caught her. All fine except I have almost dislocated my arthritic shoulder, twisted my left wrist and knee and gave my already painful neck a nasty wrench.
 'GAAAA' and indeed 'AAAAgh'.

She's o.k. though.

Hope you feel better soon- and certainly well enough for the Sizzler on Saturday!

Thank you. I tend to heal pretty quick and if not there's always beer and Tramadol. Wink

Glad you'll both be making it on saturday: Rockula- I may have to tear you off a strip, you are a source of one of my 'GAAAHS!'- I've lost count of the times* I've had to purchase music after I've had a listen to some of the stuff you post on the 'What are you listening to' thread! Most recently, that Andy Partridge cd!

GAAAAH!

I hate old buildings. The electricity in my apartment just blinked on and off, completely shutting down my computer and resetting my clocks. Just one more reminder of why I'm moving out next week.  Angry

And a reminder that I still need a UPS, and damn soon.

I get very annoyed by petty, small minded moderators that use their "power" to intimidate others and look after their own interests.

Incorrect.
I assume you are refering to Nikolas's recent locking of the "how was your day thread" well that was perfectly reasonable, people were breaking the rules by discussing religion, so he asked people to stop, instead honeythorn got her knickers in a twist and posted an angry comment saying he is impolite and childish. Which he isn't. Discussion of religion, that's a warning. Being disruptive, that's a locking. Being disruptive and breaking the rules about religion on one page? You better believe that's a locking.

You're winding yourselves up.

Hello Waylander. I'm looking forward to recieving a message from you on this matter, 'though I'm not likely to respond until morning.

In the mean time, I'd like to ask anyone who has a point they'd like to raise with me to do it via PM, if they feel the need to.

Read the thread in question again. You will find that the discussion was not about religion AT ALL.
No rules were broken and the only one who was in any way out of line, was the moderator who once again showed how not to do things.

I am quite sure Wayland did not refer to just that one thread (if I am mistaking, I apologise) . This now less unnamed moderator, has made a habit of being little more an agitator.

I would be VERY disappointed, if the future status as moderator for this person, is not being evaluated.

I for one would like to put forward a vote of no confidence.

Dealing with RTW clothes sizing on a budget while using online sales to cut costs and avoid spending all day to maybe find one thing that fits from a list of many things that need to be found. At least it eliminates a lot of the running around, but there end up being SO many returns in order to get anything done.

Read the thread in question again.
Okay I did and it seems more like disucssion about being antisocial towards christian people. Nevertheless, it's going down that long dark road to religious discussion, Nik just nipped it in the bud really.

Hey. Openly bashing moderators on this - or any - thread is really very impolite. Moderators do sometimes misstep, either because they get annoyed (they are human after all), or because a well-intentioned action turns out to be inappropriate. (I don't know what happened in this case; this is just general advice).

When this happens, please contact an admin or Governor (that's currently S.Sprocket, me, and HAC) rather than airing it in public.  If you feel that the admins/Governors don't deal with the situation appropriately, feel free to start a thread about it in the Engine Room; but at least give us a chance to deal with things internally first.

I strongly recommend ending this particular line of griping, and returning this thread to a more general "gaaah!" discussion, lest it get locked by reason of impoliteness.

My Gaaahhh is having to watch this thread spiral into the ground... Just keep it off the public boards and yell at in PMs, don't derail a perfectly good thread.

My Gaaaaah! refers to work on my electric trike which is taking abso bloomin'lutely ages. The original plan had been to motorise my trike according to my own, proven scheme, used with success on bicycles. Call this Plan A. Then in April  I asked an engineer friend to help me do it in a more 'engineering' way, rather than a 'bicycle' way. Plan B. He agreed, but no work was done for two months.

I asked him if I should go back to my original design. He said 'No,we'll do it right' , which I found insulting, but he is a damn good engineer, so I left the job with him. This was in June. I said I needed the trike in September to promote at a local show and hopefully drum up interest for orders.

It's now August. The transmission is still not finished, the motor isn't mounted, or the batteries. It's possibly too late to go back to Plan A. The transmission, my friend's design, is brick outhouse strong, and beautifully executed, but his enthusiasm seems to have dissipated with the near completion of the most interesting bit, and Summer will be over before I'm on the road.

If I'd gone with Plan A I'd have been mobile three months ago, a sort of 'second best tomorrow' approach, but I should not be having to point out that work has taken nearly four months- the man is a dear friend but I do not think I will be able to trust him to help me like this again. If anyone does want a motorised trike, it will be done via Plan A.

GAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!
