Travelling Philosopher and Part-time Eccentric

This is bit of a belated topic as such as our first gathering was last night, but after its success I feel a little more bolstered about sharing our little group. Basically I thought it'd be interesting to see how many people in my local area of Southend, Essex were actually into Steampunk and it would seem quite a few.

We met up for the first time last night and although the topics of conversation varied throughout the evening, we managed to discuss a lot of steampunk related topics. So after the success I thought I would post a little about it on here in case there are some more local people who may be interested in joining us in our next gathering.

For those who are, we have a page on that acceptable evil that is facebook.

And that just about wraps that up!

Hello There Tenlo,
Are any of your members coming to the gathering of East Anglia Steampunks on Saturday 17th April?
See THIS THREAD for more details.
Your group is certainly within easy reach of Wakes Colne, near Colchester, where the gathering is taking place.

This is necroposting by a major degree but I would say it's somewhat pertinent considering who I'm trying to contact.

I believe I met a few of you at the Hush bar at somewhere around 1:30 AM on Saturday night (possibly Friday?) after all of the other pubs closed. I'd had a couple of drinks in me, but I do remember asking if any of you wished a drink at Old Hat (opposite the Alex, on Alexandra Street), on Wednesday evening.

If any of you are on here and see this, I'd love for that to go ahead. I'm moving soon, so this is my last week here. In eight years of living in this town I've met one fellow steampunk, ever. Finding you lot now is sod's law at its finest.

SO.

Old Hat, from around seven-thirty, Wednesday 8th of August. Anyone with an interest in victoriana should come along for some drinks and good conversation. I'll probably be in the underground lounge, though I doubt you'll miss where I / we will be. I'll be in there with a few friends, definitely, so if any of you want to come out for a little while, we'll be there.
