I myself hail from a small little Victorian Resort on the mouth of the Thames, otherwise known as Southend-on-sea. I'll be forthwith about one fact, it is pleasant to know there are fellow steampunkians in Britain as I feel slightly overwhelmed by these running suit wearing individuals of the town.

Sympathies. Don't worry, it's probably just a phase they're going through. Hopefully they'll grow out of it.....

Carshalton-on-the-hill, Surrey. It's actually part of Greater London and just down the road from Croydon, but that rather spoils the atmosphere the name suggests, don't you think?

Are you saying that people born with in the town limits of Croydon aren't posh enough for your area of Surrey? I should hope not.

If I'm down at my parents, I'm in Alton, Hampshire. But I'm not down there very often.

Mentioned in the Introductions thread, but for the sake repetition..
Wordsley, nr Stourbridge, West Midlands.
If you know the Old Cat Pub or the New Inns along Audnam/High Street, then you know where I live; literally two minutes from both of them, being my locals and all. Also nearby; Rose and Crown Pub (we have a lot of pubs, huh..) and that big ol' Church.
DY8 area, if you know postcodes..

Only just found this thread as I worked my way backwards after posting in the 'UK Steampunks' thread.
Still, I feel I should register here for formaility's sake.

No idea about the IoW itself, but there appears to be plenty of others close by on the mainland. I'm sure a trip out on the old hovercraft might be enough to persuade them to visit, however?

Whoops, guess who forgot that he'd posted in here? Me too! Know Rodley? Fancy a refreshing beverage sometime? I certainly do! I was bending the truth somewhat, as while I'm technically Leeds, for the purposes of Her Majesty's Royal Mail I am classed as Bradford. About 300 yards inside the "boundary" in Thornbury, so pretty much next door to Rodley. Would this beverage take place in the Owl, or the Barge?

Thanks! I will be making an effort to visit things going on. Just takes a little organising, which I'm bad at. It'll give me practice!

I might as well add myself to the list.
I actually live in Sweden, but during term time I can be found in Reading, since I study Robotics at the university here.

I drive through Thornbury on my way to work as a matter of fact! I would choose the Owl for preference, as they have a nicer selection of ales these days, but as you are pretty much walking distance away, how about a halfway point of some description? Any suggestions? In fact, PM me when you get a chance, and we shall discuss this further!

It looks like I missed this thread when I first joined!
I'm from Cradley Heath in the Black Country, looks like I'm not the only one from the region on here either! I'm currently more into my virtual building than real crafts due to a lack of space, but I'm still looking for a small project to get me started in meatspace. :-)

Another West Midlander? We definitely need to arrange arrange something to get us all together sometime. However, with picnic season just around the corner, I'm sure an opportunity will present itself soon enough In the meantime, there's the Stratford steam rally in April for those of us in the vicinity.
