When i click the 'Show the new replies to your posts' i get obviously all the new replies, but there are also some topics where i have done a reply and i am not interested in following every reaction further in the thread for ever.
Question: Is there a way to make a difference (put them off) between threads in the 'new replies to your posts'?

I was also thinking along these lines today. I tend to use the "mark all as read," but there are definitely some threads that I'm not interested in anymore and it would be nice to remove them from the list.

Yes, actually I'm in the same boat with this one. Is there an option to stop following threads?

I brought this up a long time ago in a forum features thread, or maybe it was the ignore thread. In any case I was told it was being looked into. I have been here long enough for there tyo be 36198238162318 threads that I commented in months ago and really never need to see again.

One should think that a Zeppelin Overlord's opinion shouldn't be taken lightly, but it seems that title doesn't give it more weight. Maybe there are not lots of people that use that possibility.

I'd add my name to the list of people who find this mildly annoying ...except that now I have another thread that I'll see all the replies to.
It would make sense to make "watching" and "replied to" separate. I often want to watch a thread and I may reply later as the conversation continues, but I don't want to make some inane comment now just to get it into my watch list. Likewise, I have actually gone into a thread and deleted a post (several pages from the current position) just so that I hadn't replied to that thread and so it was removed from my watch list - there are now many such threads and so this is not an option any more.

Do you mean the email you receive to let you know that someone has replied to a thread you posted to ? If so then you can go into your profile and select the Notifications & email link on the left. That should list all the threads you are getting notifications for. You can then delete from that list and you dont get them. You can also set the option there to automatically (or not) add tnotification for threads you reply to. I have mine set to not automatically add to my list that way I have to 'opt in' with the notify link for those that I do care to follow. If thats not the problem then I apologize for posting and adding one more notification to your inbox

@ professor Higgins: I'm sorry to say that the e-mail notification is not the discussed issue here. (if it was only that simple ). At the top of your screen beside your avatar there is a 'New replies to your posts' link. If you click that you get all the treads where you have posted a reply in the past. Some topics are interesting to follow, but sometimes you just give a reply and don't want to follow it anymore. It would be handy to select what topics you really want to follow and discard the ones you don't. The list gets only longer and longer now.

It has indeed been brought up before. Pretty much everyone (me included) would love an "unfollow topic" function. Our software doesn't provide it. It's promised in the 2.0 version, which is in beta - but this is free software, so it could be a while. Such a feature will be included in Steamie (my own blog/forum software), but it's a hobby project I do in my spare time (he said, laughing). It is anyone's guess when either will be true. If you have PHP chops (and time) you could: - Write an extension; I'll gladly test it out, and if it works, implement it
- Contribute to the SMF (SimpleMachines Forum) 2.0 project, thus speeding its release
I don't have the time to do this, and I don't know enough PHP even if I did have the time. Sorry!

With my luck,a dismissed thread would get REALLY interesting right after I culled it.

I am not troubled by any knowledge about Php. So we have to wait I guess.

yes and sadly with Proteus taking a break, I'm afraid we have no way of adding new features at this time, so this request may be on hold for an unknown period of time .

It really would be an asset to the forum, but if we have to wait than we have to wait.
