Greeting & Salutations!

If I may share?  I have been building a custom computer for the last several months that includes some techniques that may translate to your own Steampunk projects.   My compulsion is brass and copper and while decidedly deco in influences (Bioshock 2 to be exact), you may be interested in the used of laser cut brass and shagreen (stingray leather) in this project.

Stingray covered mounting base - Would this not make an excellent covering for a ray gun grip?

Wow!
That's sweet, Bioshock 2 theme is great!

I'm thinking of doing one that's Brass, Copper and glass with some wood paneling.
Maybe some working clockwork behind the glass side(s)?

This will be super awesome when you've finished it.

Thank you!  You are too kind.

If the wood and clockwork angle is to your liking, take a look at this gentleman's work.

I can't believe you used a blow torch body for a water cooling res - I was just thinking about the same thing earlier today!  Cheesy (as you beat me to it, I have something else in mind now.... Wink  )

You project looks great.  Smiley

I've not been to thebestcasescenario.com since the doom3 mod. I am awestruck at the level of detail you have managed and the effort undertook.

Hats off to you sir.

Peruse the gentleman's build site, his metalwork skills are amazing. The image of the blowtorch tank is nothing compared to the craftsmanship that converts it into a working coolant system.

Thank you for the sentiments gentlefolk.  I am pleased in the extreme that you like it.  It has been an obsession for the past few months that has only exacerbated my brass compulsions.  As the saying goes, its not problematic if you have a support group. Smiley

Siliconous Skumins sorry to hear that I scooped your idea.  It was indeed unintentional.  May I offer my apologies and point you to possible replacements?

A brass/copper fire extinguisher...although the one pictured is large, you may find what you need in the smaller hand pump variety.

Fear not, I think your setup works better than mine would have, and you obviously thought of it well before me, so kudos.  However it was actually a choice between the blowtorch and the somewhat steampunk looking copper and brass water heating unit from an old electric shower unit.  I think you just helped me decide.  Cheesy

I might have to put my water cooling idea on hold for a little while though, it seems I've misplaced the 12v in-line pump - I have everything I need, except the pump.  Huh  The last time I seen it was when I removed all the water cooling rig from my old AMD X2 4400, and that was a couple of months ago. Most irritating!  Sad
