My wife (Courtney), my son (Liam) and I will be there. (I'll PM you in a second VG) We can bring: Brownies, and some non alcohol drinks (Kool Aid and sodas), some meat for the grill as well, and what ever my wife dreams up.

Really?!? Baked beans from a CAN?!? That's blasphemy... As to succotash - I've never understood the appeal. Then again, I don't really do barbecue food. The last one I remember was June and there was sangria. And the famous slushies (whiskey, orange juice, more whiskey, freeze, then serve under ginger ale), four different homemade salsas, pesto pasta salad, balsamic roasted potato salad, I think chickens were grilled but I don't eat them so... We're a bit atypical here. Wren - my weekends are fairly well claimed for a while what with managerial incompetence and all. I will see what I can do, but it is fairly unlikely barring kidnapping (which I wholeheartedly support). And I do own flat shoes, cher - I swear by Chuck Taylors when I'm in jeans.

wrench in the gears for me, all... scenario 1: i am supposed to be in Philadelphia for Projekt Fest and Dracula's Ball and to spend quality time with my wife who i don't see nearly enough. i was planning to go by train due to the fact that my vehicle does not currently do well with extended drives or highway driving. i've just looked it up and it's a six-hour train ride to the tune of $200, and i'd literally need shuttling to and from (not to mention spending that much time on the train now that they won't let you smoke). scenario 2: in theory i could take the train from Harrisburg to Lynchburg, but that's a longer ride (with brief stops in Philadelphia). still means i'd go eons without a cigarette and would only be in town for a few hours at best. it appears that this is not in the cards for me, cher.

You old enough for your licence? >peery looks at him< I don't wanna get arrested by no scary Yanky Bobbie neither.

The Count already PM'd me about this, but i'll just let anybody know... i will be bringing the grill, but folks are more than welcome to use it for cooking. I don't want to be slaved to the grill all day long. Its a standard size grill with adjustable height. If you plan to do a lot of cooking, please bring some extra charcoal!

Greetings to all and sundry~ Aha! So, I'm not quite dead yet, after all! Some rapid calculations reveal that Fredericksburg is approximately 250 miles from the Barony of Lux. That means a minimum of two days driving time, which means Lady Nancy and the three dog-children must come, which means firing up the Big Beast- 500 mile round trip= 100 gals. fuel (@5mpg)= $300.00 diesel + $50.00 gasoline to run onboard generator for A/C...add to parking problem, especially overnight.... Sorry, Cats and Kitties, a trip that far without a paying gig at the other end just ain't in the cards. With profound regrets, Your Humble Servant, Sgt. Major T.E. Thistlewaite, HMRHM, ret., The Right Honourable Baron Luxborough.

Too bad we're not around this weekend or you'd get some real 4x4-ing done in my wife's 69 Landy zebra. She even named it Oliver after the Top Gear epi where the lads try to cross part of the Africa and Mr Hamster has fun times there in his Opel named Oliver. markf

I have just taken care of some business, and have my schedule for that week. I have to work that Sunday, and I have no transport. If someone feels like grabbing me up and taking me to come play too I will happily pay in for Fuel/Food and suchlike. I'll ready on Sunday by about 5pm.

How about a sign-up list for this Sunday's BBQ? I know some have already list some sundries they'll be bringin', but let's do it again, just to cover the bases... I'll keep this post updated: Running Head-count: 9-10 so far - VG & Tribal Wren - Providing the location
- J & G Ringling - Deviled eggs and watermelon
- Maj. Clive Hathaway - grill, standard hotdogs & hamburgers to share, Baked beans, Cornbread, 3-4 extra people (not to be grilled)
- Lord Wraste - Mead & Money
1 question... Is everyone bringing their own meat, or will there be enough to go around? Either way it doesn't matter to me, I just need to know if we should be carrin'...

I will bring the grill, (possibly 2 grills), standard hotdogs & hamburgers to share, some steaks that i may or may not be able to share (depending on how many i can get) and possibly some ribs. Baked beans. Cornbread. And i'll be coming with an entourage of 4 or 5 ppl.
I would ask that if anyone has a Chili recipe they are proud of, please to make some. Wren should try that. Also, we should have watermelon & iced tea. I have plenty of tea, but dont really have a big pitcher or a cooler or anything like that. Thoughts?
VG, a few questions. What time will everything kick off? And what exactly is the set-up like? will we have tables & chairs, food prep area, shade, etc? or are we completely al rustico and need to bring our own pic-nic blankets/ coolers etc.? Will we have access to a fridge and a stove? Bevan wants to make his famous steak salad, but he'll need a stove to do so. Let me know what to expect and i'll plan accordingly. Till then...

Time is sort of semi-arbitrary...sometime in the afternoon. It takes awhile to get down there, and I'm a late sleeper. I think if folks started showing up at around 5 or so, that would be pretty good. It's pretty rustic. Yes, plenty of trees and so forth for shade, and lots of fields to set up 'stuff' in. You wanna bring whatever you think you'll need, that means yes, bring your own coolers and blankeys and stuff. It's not too far from shopping areas via car, so we can always pick up stuff we find we need. No tables and chairs. Fields and forests! And bonfire. There is a house with a fridge and stove. That's where me mum and pops live, of course! I reckon I oughta send y'all the address before it's too late, eh?

Hey everyone, just to make sure this BBQ happens smoothly, if you are not on the list in the above post, please update your RSVP and supply list. We're going to try to get this right without any last minute runs to the store... And a word of warning about Virginia on Sundays... I think the "State Stores" wont be open. Not sure about beer and wine and not 100% sure about Fredericksburg, but don't be surprised if the good spirits cannot be purchased on your way there... We'll be driving through PG County, so no worries for us... they sell whatever you want 24/7...
