Hailing from White Hall MD, a half hour north of Baltimore and next to Shrewsbury PA. So oddly rural there's no fiber optics, no cable service, and not even DSL via phone lines available. Bummer.

The same situation obtains here in the Catskill Park - we use the HughesNetsatellite service. Even when the phone lines go down in the myriad storms, we've got 'Net.

Sunnyvale, CA, in the Silicon Valley. One letter different from Buffy's Sunnydale, the difference being that the population of one has a high percentage of the undead, and the population of the other has a high percentage with no life.

sounds like where my folks live, in western PA. They barely have sattelite TV and the phone still clicks (have to pay extra for a "tone" connection). Love your post, Mr. Boltneck

Pfff, you're from Portland. Hillsboro is a suburb, not a town.

Pfff, you're from Portland. Hillsboro is a suburb, not a town. Like we Portlanders want to claim Hillsboro as a Suburb Hillsboro is a separate town on the other side of Beaverton from Portland, and in a different county. Z.

Clackamas is a county. Milwaukie, Oregon City, Gladstone, Happy Valley, Damascus, Boring, Estacada (getting more and more remote as I go down the list) would also object to being called part of Portland. The Portland Conurbation I could accept. But saying that Hillsboro is a suburb of Portland is like saying that Tacoma is a suburb of Seattle. Z.
