My heroic husband, who is not the least bit interested in my steampunking antics, splashed out on this amazing present for me for New Year (we exchange gifts then, not at xmas, in our family):

A gorgeous brass stirling engine to siit on my (many) cups of tea. I am so thrilled. It came in a cardboard tube so i am planning to make it a steamy travelling case, so i can take it with me from place to place, to show off.

Aye, 'tis very beautiful and particularly embarassing as I managed to foul up two of the presents I got for hubby: a book he already has and a set of wildlife films on bloody Blueray, which we dont have the technology to even play. Oh dear, he must think i dont care.....

Hrm, I wonder if I can get one in the US.

I guess I could always build one if I have to.

Mr Harrow, you are so right, since we do indeed have THAT technology in the house.
