Then I shall grant the honour to my humble country and its neighbour (I love you too Belgium) to occupy the first thread in Europe.
Any steamy groups anywhere in the Netherlands or Belgium?
There is one smaller gathering occasionally in Noord Holland, about 6 or 7 known people of our kind scattered along the coastline.
I hoped to be able to map civil steampunk activity in the Netherlands.

Could you imagine them trying to do that with British builders? You'd get a reasonable quote to start out with, then when they've taken 75% longer, and gone 45% over budget, you start to wonder what went wrong  |

www.studioapocalypse.nl is holding an LRP event the weekend after next which is supposedly a mix of steampunk, fantasy and sci-fi. I don't know which level of steampunk is in that mix, but I've heard good things about the event itself. Nox Obscura ( www.noxobscura.nl) was cancelled last year because not enough visitors seemed interested. However the organiser, Vana Events, is not giving up on steampunk yet. Amongst other things, at the coming Castlefest ( www.castlefest.nl) the walled garden will be dedicated to steampunk.

I live near the German border, in Limbonesia to be specific.
Next to the NRW area.
My outfit is not completely ready yet.
I've been a member of another costume group since 2007, namely the 501st legion and the Dutch Garrison in specific.
Four of our members are working as we speak on their first steampunk outfits.(they live in Vlaardingen; Deventer; Amersfoort; and the Roermond area)
Next event for me (in my SP outfit) will be at Elf Fantasie Fair in Haarzuilens. (april 24+25)

i only have a summer outfit, and i'll freeze if i wear that now, i do have something steampunk-ish though.
i live in the middle of the country, so i can go (almost) anywere

Awesome, the amount of Dutch people grown by the week . I have moved to Utrecht meanwhile close to the station, a bit more central! I'd love to participate a big meeting with steampunks, though I too am still lacking in outfit  . I'd even more love a workplace to occasionally work on creating outfits/steamy objects together . How awesome would that be. But as said we're pretty bad planners hehehe. |

Well Joozey, I'm in the country for another week. Leaving coming sunday.
If there are a few of us that's like to get together for a nice cuppa tea, I'm not far from Utrecht.
Perhaps not all kitted out in dress etc but just for a chat. Just give us a shout.
