I have been scrounging industrial parts for years and just stash them away until I get the right combination to start on another project.  Well, I am now ready to start on my table lamp.  Check my blog to see pics and current status of my latest project.  http://thesalvagebeast.blogspot.com/
I think that I am going to install a touch sensitive switch on this lamp that has three settings (low, medium, high) so that all you have to do is touch the lamp anywhere and it will come on.

Just finished the mock up on my table lamp.  Next phase will be paint and wiring.  Check it out here...http://thesalvagebeast.blogspot.com/

You, sir, have far too many goodies. I don't have any of those, and now I need some. Probably good that we don't hunt the same piles, as we share a similar taste in treasures.

The lamp is looking good SB!  Smiley

Is it just me, or does the style of that lamp look like it needs some kind of coloured light source - I'm thinking green...  Dunno why, but I think that would look awesome with emerald green light emerging from the front emitter ports (slits / openings).  Wink
Maybe a coloured cover glass (or coloured gels / perspex), so it can be removed quickly if desired?

As the posted picture from Dec. 20 shows this lamp (http://thesalvagebeast.blogspot.com/), I just got reminded of the cameras on top of the Viking Mars landers from the 1970's!
