Abracadabra, Chupacabra!  I hereby necromance and resurrect this thread simply to annoy folk around me and post this not Steampunk yet quite nice Dieselpunk bus.  I though that perhaps we have run the gamut of Steampunk vehicles, and it's time to turn a bit toward Dieselpunk: The Futurliner bus below was built for promotion by General Motors in 1939 ,and further redesigned in 1953.

I think that one of these is at the Washington DC Auto Show this week.  Heard about it on the radio.  Hope to make the show in the coming week.

Nice photos; thanks for sharing. It's nicely kept.  What exactly is the purpose of that bar on top?  Just fluorescent lighting?

These were originally built to tour the midwest county fairs.  The top bar is full of lights and would be raised to light up the area at night.  It is not all the way up in the picture I took. Each vehicle had a generator.  The dual wheels where designed to allow driving on fields where the fairs would be.

I can envision this as a Dieselpunk RV  Grin

I wouldn't be afraid of creating a modern replica with modern hardware and filling it up with the latest 21st C. tech like glass cockpit, HUD, Satelite receiver, etc., all in a an Art-Deco retro-style.  Grin

The vehicle is available in 28mm (we think) from Reviresco. YMMV on whether you actually want it though; no good images are available, the miniatures pictured on the website seem to get painted with half an inch of primer on them.

If I had to get a steam car, it would be one of these:

I feel like this belongs here...the "Black Pearl" by Revatu Customs.

http://www.odditycentral.com/pics/this-steam-powered-motorcycle-is-any-steampunks-fan-dream-come-true.html

I believe from what I have read that it actually runs off of compressed air and does a whole 5MPH, but it is still neat nonetheless. The renderings have been floating around for a while, originally dubbed "Train Wreck." Revatu took them and decided to put the gears into motion!

By far, one of my favorite motorcycles.

That is a nice build.  Seeing the real version is so much more impressive than the computer drawing.
