Quote from 'Bedrooms and Hallways': Miss Bennett: Oh Mr Darcy, you are looking flushed. Have you been taking a long walk ? Mr Darcy: No, I've been whipping the stable boy. You, boy. Have you been whipped today? Just the once, sir. Servants must be whipped every hour on the hour, it's how they tell the time! Meet me in the stables. I frickin'-well love that movie, and that scene made me giggle like a schoolgirl and pant like a dog.

Alegrah, is there a reason that you want to connect with your ex right now, other than to apologize? It sounds like you're really beating yourself up over this, is why I ask.
I honestly don't know. I just feel like an arse for doing what I did. I think it has something to do with my what my most recent ex did to me. What she did to me was pretty similar to what I did to her in a lot of ways, and I think my guilt just intensified because I know how badly it hurts. I was being super selfish when I broke up with her. In some ways, I think y'all helped me, too. I was super self-conscious about being homosexual when we were together. She was my first girlfriend. I had some trouble with some people I knew and I was afraid that my secret would get out, so I figured I should break up with her. I figured it would hurt less than if something happened and we got each other in trouble. And we were young, so that was also pretty stupid. I just want to be acknowledged that she realizes that I know I did wrong rather than leave me wallowing in my guilt. On another note, Ginny and Grace, you two make an adorable couple. :] I hear you. It sucks to wait on that response, but you've already done all you can by putting your apology out there. Even if you don't hear back from her, you did make an effort to patch this situation up some. Sometimes that's the best we can do. And thank you. I think the missus herself is so adorable that some of it is bound to rub off on me a bit. Yes, I suppose you're right. :/ And of course! :]

I was always more into the wrestling style arts. I was always good at judo groundwork. Hmm...
Since we're talking things that sound hot, I really like the idea of submission grappling another trained switch. Winner gets to Top.

Though just to destroy your train of thought for the day - take the bit where Hugo Weaving gets his gear off (for those of you who only know Hugo from the Lord of the Rings movies or the Matrix, he's rather well built and very furry), and put him in tight leather shorts and a chest harness... [I'm going to use this emoticon >>> to mean "drooling uncontrolably".] I was always more into the wrestling style arts. I was always good at judo groundwork. Hmm...

I´ve never been all that fond of the on-the-ground fighting techniques we have in my style (Wudang/Practical Tai Chi)... but I think you, my good man, just gave me a reason to put the sabre away and start working on this bit instead

Moved back to the city (if you can call Red Deer a city) on Thursday, got most things set up. Finally have decent internet connection and replaced that failing hard drive. Lots of college business to deal with since I've been made the Assistant Stage Manager for the first show, which also means no LARP, or most of the other fun things I like to do.
Once things get started with the new school year, I should be able to find the college LGBT (and any other abbreviations they can think to add) student group and talk about my “alternative preferences” outside of the internet.

Ah, finally! Someone in my area! You may not be part of the 'city', but you're welcome to the Edmonton Steampunk events anytime. Had no idea you'd be in my neck of the woods, or I'd have let you know about the photoshoot this weekend. I'll send you a link to their Facebook page. =)

Drunken double post. Pay no attention!

Well, with the responsibilities of ASM, I won't have the time to attend any steampunk events until probably late October/early November. Which means I really can't go to con-version 26 in Calgary. Until the show is over, “Free time” is homework time. It makes me sad, but at the same time, they wouldn't have made me an ASM if they didn't believe I could do it, which is a tremendous vote of confidence. After that, I should be a little more free for the occasional event. I shouldn't be allowed near a computer when I've been drinking... But it's so much fun, nobody can tell that I'm inebriated even now!

That's alright, I haven't been able to go to an event since January. I miss the folks of Edmonton Steampunk. They're lovely people. We'll have to both make an appearance at one of the events when you're available, since I have a feeling no one will have a clue who I am after missing that many events. What show are you involved in?

The Red Deer College production of “Unity (1918)” I can't talk much about how the production is going outside of general “all is well” statements. I was told quite firmly by my stage manager that what happens in rehearsal stays in rehearsal. Also, I wouldn't be able to say much because auditions start Tuesday and as of yet I know very little about how the production is planned.
Organization is one of my greatest weaknesses and being the assistant stage manager may very well push me beyond my limits. The good thing is that what I perceive as my limits are, more often then not, greatly underestimated. Can I do it? I'm not 100% sure right now, but then I'm not 100% sure of a lot of things.

Hmm, in my experience of AmDram, the job of an ASM is to do what the SM tells them to. Pretty simple really :-)

Not quite. The ASM is typically the one that makes sure that all of the smaller things get done so the SM doesn't have to worry about them.

I picked up a brass handled flogger with brass chain falls at DragonCon. Very pretty, and you can put a glowstick inside to make the handle glow. Normally, chains would be for sensation play, rather than impact, but as a party flogger it cuts nicely through the heavy fabric of a kilt (which normally deadens a typical leather flogger). A good find, and I got it directly from the person who made it, which is always nice.

I went by that table twice just to look at those. They were very pretty, so it's nice to know that they are also functional.

Man, I wish I was at DragonCon.
Yes, I realise that I've said this before, but the point still stands.

Oh, you are beautiful! No really, you are, you're gorgeous! Space-age clockwork, I love it, I've got chills! Listen, I mean this from the heart - and by the way, count those - it would be a crime, it would be an act of vandalism to disassemble you.
But that won't stop me.

Love the new Old Spice adds... though its kinda funny that Old Spice is "cool" now, as I've been using it since my grandmother gave me a stick when I was 12. It's one of the few brands my oh-so-sensitive skin doesn't react badly too.
And about those floggers and such... I just wish I'd realized before we got home and did the whole contact linking thing that the girl across the hall I'd been chatting with all weekend was in fact a domme...

Up until recently, I'd never even heard of Old Spice. I just used the deodorant my mother bought me. Ahh, the freedom of living alone.

I'm becoming very frustrated between two things. One: my cold. Two: The fact that until I move in with my lovie, I shall see myself as the most sexually frustrated female on the face of the earth. In short: Urgh.

OK, this comment is going to be rather pointless to anyone who's not a Farscape fan, and frelling awesome to anyone who is:
This weekend, I got topped by Aeryn Sun. I also got kinda knocked the fuck out. Turns out, if you are the only person at the demo to recognize the teacher's costume, you get to be teacher's pet.
*also omits details for now*
