I so very, very much regret that I didn't get called into service. But then again, almost no one is these days over here, unless they say that they want to make a career out of it, and that yes they will have a whole lot of free time on their hands for the next two or three years... Goddamnit, if I can ace the tests and then lug an MSG90 with ammunition and my regular field kit and a Gustav for ten miles at a jog that should entitle me to at least a pair of uniform pants right there on the spot...
I hate Sweden.
Don't worry, I had all my dreams of becoming a soldier quashed by my wheat allergies Otherwise I'd be in the RAF Regiment by now (or would have been 7 years ago). Hey-ho way it all pans out. quick summary: nazi's uniforms nosebleeds cultural differences and attitudes easy peasy Jolly good I own uniforms, well 2. RAF & British Army Number 2. I rather like wearing them for 'fancy dress' or whatnot.

hehe. i understand completely. I have regretted not being a man myself on occasion though. it seems like a tough, but viable option if you´re sick of everything else. I'm... Sorry? Well, regardless of what you mean by that, I guess I understand. But the thing is, once you're stuck with it, it usually kind of turns out not quite as fun as you'd imagined... I've taken a few preliminary courses and tests. Enough to know that I'd most likely have been assigned as a sniper or sharpshooter and as an airborne or parachute ranger. And since the Swedish equivalent of the Fallschirmsjägern are pretty much up there, along with the attack divers, I was sort of looking forward to it when I signed my name, since you get extra theoretical training and status and what have you. But they want useful idiots... Jolly good I own uniforms, well 2. RAF & British Army Number 2. I rather like wearing them for 'fancy dress' or whatnot. Pics or it didn't happen. Hear, hear!

indeed, indeed. A friend of mine is training to be a Fallschirmjäger and I cannot understand the intellectual deprivation he is capable of subjecting himself to... but at least he will soon get to go to University, too.

Oh Helios. If we're talkin' BSG circa 1978, then I'm down. The new version irritates me to no end.... (And really, the uniforms look like they got lifted from the set of Babylon-5)

Well, I'm afraid we must agree to simly disagree on that matter. I love the new BSG just as much as the old one, but prefer the new one's uniforms.

I can understand the preference for the new uniforms. They look good. They do look like B-5/Star Trek Maroons to me though.
Meh. I had a roommate obsessed with Sci-fi for a while.
I MUCH prefer Stargate SG-1 and Farscape though...

I am working on convincing my Star Gate SG-1 obsessed best mate into building his/her own Off-World uniform. Then we can both dress up as people from our favourite shows.
Perhaps my favourite part of NBSG is the realism in the way it's been shot, designed, and written. That, and I love the new spin they put on the old story. As I told a friend once, it was the first TV show I actually, truly, properly loved. The second being Firefly.

Well, I can certainly agree about the pseudo-religosity, but as a character, I like what they did with Baltar. Sure, he's squirmy, weasely, selfish, ego-centric, and such, but at least he's consistently so. It works much better than Baltar being an evil profiteer-betrayer of all humanity, like he was in the original. And the cylons are... An interesting way of doing it, to be sure.

I feel like utter, utter shit. Rough night, barely slept, no internet (which always makes my night worse, I like to be up-to-date with my e-mail and webcomics). Tired and overstressed.
Sent Ana a text last night, since I haven't really heard from her in a few days and she said no to two dates. No reply, I think to myself "No credit, probably" and get on with my night. This morning I'm checking facebook (15 notification e-mails this morning to sift through) and her status is "thinks sometimes its easier to keep your mouth shut than tell people what your feeling and risk the feeling of hurt and disappointment..." Considering she apologised several times for "disappointing me" for saying no to going out, and since I rarely believe in coincidence, I'm just about ready to cut and run. Plus the your/you're thing, almost a dealbreaker in itself.
I need a stiff drink. Actually, I need to go home, I can't focus on work.
On the plus side, SG-1 = Win. Atlantis had a few good moments and was generally entertaining enough (I have to admit, Carson dying made me very sad, although Dr Kaylee? WIIIINNER), Universe seem to be too busy shooting themselves in the foot (seriously, a 6-month wait for the second half of the first series? Idiots), although I'd like to see how it pans out. It's an interesting concept, although I'm not sure it's a long-haul format.

Both dress uniforms, but I also have two sets of DPMs along with PLCE webbing from my airsofting days. Jolly good I own uniforms, well 2. RAF & British Army Number 2. *eeek* Too much mud. I appear to no longer be a single person and believe me its very odd having to factor another person into my life after such a long time
Congratulations Miss RoseOak. He is a lucky guy. May you have a very good time. And factorisation is what it is all about. Thank you. I'm planning having fun but I doubt anything more will come of it.

grrr... I just spent two hours tidying, dusting and hoovering. this flat is a tip and no one is doing anything about it but me. The dishwasher has so much stuff piled on top of it because everyone is too lazy to empty it that by the time I do, I can just run it again, because it´ll be full with the stuff from on top of it. There are currently five full binbags in the flat, no one is taking them down. The recycling is overflowing - ignored. The countertops are filthy and I only cleaned them two days ago. Don´t get me started on the bathroom. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THEM??? they didn´t use to be that messy... pours herself a strong one

Hair. He accused me of being the one doing it, so I cropped my mid-chest length hair to peach-fuzz. He still said it was me even though the thing clogged again months later.
And that's almost worse, having them have been good but now rubbish. *hug*
I've been having an off day today, i has commissions and the damn fabric still hasn't arrived yet I hate the sitting around and waiting for stuff. The waiting is the hardest part of mail order. I LOVE instant gratification. Speaking of, I just got three pair of shoes in the post!
I love them, as I have oddly shaped feet that are hard to fit and found that Vans work really well. And I got them on SALE!!!
I love shopping.

I hate living alone. Probably a side-effect of my mother running a day-care out of the house, then going to live in dorms in High School and College. The living-alone phase between that and the lady moving in was a shortish window into just how left of center I'll drift when left to my own devices. A lonely Utini in the middle of the night gets rather crazy, and prone to trouble.
