For years we have known about them. Creatures which haunt and prowl the darkness, assuring that humanity loses its place at the apex of the food chain. But to us, they have simply been stories. But in this world, these stories are indeed, facts of life. The dead walk, man becomes beast, and those with dark gifts form cruel empires to grind their heels into the throats of thise without.
Welcome to a world where humanity is at constant war with a dark side we have only dreamed of. Major cities such as London, Geneva, and Dublin have become massive, armored forts, guarded constantly by specialised soldiers armed with chemichal weapons, occult magicks, holy runes, and mechanical implants. Those brave enough can venture outside of the steel and stone walls of their cities, but will in turn, face the creatures which prowl the earth.
Alrigh folks, this will be a story-driven Rp. Any ideas you have for characters and this world would be generally welcome, just be aware of these few little facts I'd like to establish for this world.
"Revenants, Rev's, Stinking reverends, or Rot-jaws" are this world's equivalent to the zombie. They inhabit and festoon almost all of central europe and italy, and are not slavering beasts who only crave the flesh of the living, but are rather fearful creatures shrouded in mystery. They are the collectors of dead bodies, and the devourers of the dying. They follow the commands of the queen, and are unliving extensions of the mysterious entity, though when puled from their home turf, they become ferocious and unpredictable, like rabid dogs, making them ideal "guard beasts" for private estates.
And above all, No vampires or werewolves unless you can offer something truely original! Write your profile in standard profile form, name, Age, occupation, Abilities and all that. I look foreward to receiving a reply.

Not really, because lovecraft's horror wasnt so much supernatural as Science fiction that was beleived supernatural. And besides, i think cthuhlu needs a bit of downtime for the moment.

Lets start by turning the weird up to 11 Name Nina Lafayette Age 24
occupation Librarian and Research assistant
Abilities Has two crows Phobos and Demos who act as her eyes. They see things differently than people do. Phobos sees heat as colors and Demos sees the spirit world as moving black shapes. Is a very competent hunter and did it often before the accident.
Description Brown glossy curls cover permanently closed eyes and a delicate white spiderweb of scars that creep across pink cheeks. Nina is a sturdy girl but shorter than her peers. She had never told anyone about the accident that took her eyes or how she is able to see out of the crow's eyes. She is most often in the dove gray senior staff uniform of St Bethany's and when out on the town tends to ware muted shades.

Name: Aven Reinhart
age: 23
Occupation: Beginning monster hunter, former student in the study of Academia Monstorum and Abominatus.
Abilities: Fantastic knowledge of monsters, beasts, and abbhorations. Incredibly skilled with monster-killing potives, chemichals, and salts usually launched from a special sling or canister-gun he keeps at his side. some skill in mechanics and swordfighting.
Appearance: Despite his age, Aven is desceptively young looking, mostly because of his soft blue eyes hidden beneath large, ungainly glasses which hang over a somewhat prominent nose. His face is thin, but not without his charms, though it is incredibly pale from years of studying in dark libraries all over the continent of albion. He is often seen wearing formal dress, a white shirt, black vest, light jacket, and black pants. Despite his work with voalatile chemistry he takes great pride in the fact that his sleeves and shoes remain unstained by the strong potives. A small but incredibly effective gas mask and set of goggles hang around his neck in case the fumes of his latest works become too powerful.
Background: despite being the son of a famous Monster hunter, Heinrich Rheinhart Aven never shared his father's love for combat or high adventure, though after being denounced as an utter milksop by his own family, he set out to prove them wrong by studying all he could on the art of monster hunting. Too afraid to become a goretouched (a human with monster implants) and not strong enough to be a hyde-hunter (Humans who use the pelts of monsters for trade, weaponry, and protection.) He decided to become an Adaptus Alchemia, a master of monster-killing potions, though he has always been fascinated by the supernatural.

I'll be more available in about a week but I can start now. And in response, I am turning the weird up to 12. I think this beats out a werewolf.
Name: Kemp Necker
Age: 26
Occupation: Part of the City Night Watch
Abilities: Competent Fighting skills coming with being part of the City Watch. However, when he allows his "Tainted" form to manifest, he is a very fearsome opponent, with superhuman stamina, agility and regeneration.
Appearance: Is a fairly tall man and fairly strong looking. He has slightly long thin brown hair and a face that is friendly with expressive blue eyes, while being a bit pale and drawn. He tends to dress in the functional black clothing of the Night Watch, with a long black jacket, boots, and brimmed hat. Though he normally keeps it hidden, he has a leather strap on his upper right arm. This has, on inspection, silver spikes that just pierce his skin. Silver, as the purifying metal, keeps the Tainted at Bay until removed..
As "Tainted" Kemp takes on a hulking, aquatic form. He nearly doubles in size, though hunched and stooped with much large. His skin becomes hard and scaly and fins appear on parts of his body, with hard plating on some parts. He gains a mouth full of sharp teeth and long claws. In this form he can survive on both land and sea. He is also resistant to most attacks, having advanced regeneration. His only weakness is silver - if enough of it is in his body it will start to clean his blood and revert him to normal human form and little amounts weaken this form. This is how his silver arm band keeps him human.
Background: Kemp was born an Orphan in London. Not noticed by society and trying to keep out of Orphanages he was used as a test subject in one of the more infamous illegal laboratories to operate in the city. He managed to keep enough of his sanity to escape and learn how to control the goretouched parts of himself. He started over as part of the City Night Watch, transferring to Geneva, a position where he has gained more respect and steady pay, while keeping his trouble out of the light, for now.

Name: Luther Augustus Thormane Age: 19 Occupation: Apprentice Bladesmith and Blender Abilities: Luther has the ability to mold almost any solid substance into a different shape known as Blending. This is limited to earth based elements such as iron and stone. More advanced metalurgy is a skill that few have the ability to blend while molding and while he shows some ability it is only at the beginning stages. This has allowed him to appentice to a blademaker for the purpose of creating weapons for the cities guards. As some creatures are vulnerable to cold iron this allows for cold iron blades to be created with out full need of a anvil and forge allowing the process to be sped up. Luther's Master is also a blender and has the ability to blend more complex metals together. While this can be done much faster then forging a sword or pike for a weapon it is taxing on the bodies energy and pushing the limits has been known to kill blenders. As a former soldier Luther's Master has taught him to use most of the weapons they create and what they are useful against. As a Blade Smith can be called upon by the guards he must be able to lend a hand in the fighting. Because of his size he is careful around most people and can at times appear clumsy. However he has learned to move fast and use his size in battle. Appearance: Luther is stocky as most men who swing a hammer. And most times can be seen wearing his leathers to keep from burning himself while working at the forges. His Norse heritage has made him tall standing at seven feet and he uses it to his advantage. Should he be called upon for a fight he comes out wearing a large Danish axe of cold iron, a heavy round shield, and chainlink armor. It might not be advanced as some people but bullets run out and magic can backfire, and it does not take much to re-hone the edge of his axe. Background: Luther comes from a poor family and because of his size they made him take apprenticeship early. While his size made him a poor choice for a soldier as the guard were not used to a boy being bigger then they where. Then his Master Gregor took him on he began learning how to work the forge. Only about a year ago did he learn he could meld and blend metals without the forge. With this talent he has learned faster, and has been helpful to meeting the cities requirements for weapons on the walls. Luther has also seen what can happen when you over exert blending and spent a week feeble as an old man unable to stand upright. He is careful not to abuse his ability and hopes never to suffer that way again.

If the more are, indeed, the merrier, and if I may, I would like to put forward my character.
Name: Otto Eisenrad
Age: 27
Occupation: Ex-Horologist turned sell-sword.
Abilities: Mechanical right hand gives a steadier aim with his Pneumatic Slug Thrower. Adequate surgeon; can stitch a wound and perform a field amputation. Skilled mechanic. A large wrench will knock down most anything that gets too close. Designs and creates mechanical prostheses.
Description: A little under six feet. Nowhere near as musclebound as a blacksmith or a longshoresman, but but able to hold his own among men of the sword. Short dark hair, dark eyes, scarred face. His nose was broken and healed slightly crooked. Wears a long leather coat that always looks somewhat singed, and leather knee boots.
History: Born in Britannia to a german father and an english mother. His parents died when he was young, and he went to live with his Grandfather in Munich, where he studied to be a clock maker, like his father and grandfather. At nineteen, he was drafted into the City Guard. When his superiors learned he had studied in the manufacture of precision intruments, they assigned him to the unit's surgeon, to help make the various mechanical augments and replacements many of the Guard favored. After losing his right arm just below the elbow in an incident with a malfunctioning automaton, he was removed from active duty, but continued to create prostheses for the Guard, while designing a replacement for the standard issue hand he had been given. After his grandfather died of Lung-Rot, he left Germany to seek his fortune elsewhere.

Nina is setting in the main square eating so you could meet her there or you could go to the church where Avin is and Kemp is on the beach with the sea angel but I think you would be more likely to meet us in town.

It's been quite a while since we've heard from either V.A.P. or Thorinis, and one wonders whether or not they'll be back. For my part, I'm mostly waiting for the exposition that's been hinted at; I wouldn't want to derail someone's carefully laid plans.
I don't want to advocate leaving anyone out, but I think we should consider continuing as we are.
Thoughts?
