Two hours in blender, one for the cog, another for texture and arrangement. Ten minutes to render.

RPFolkers,

That is a beautiful background!  Did you make it?

ElShoggotho,

Great modeling job on the cog!  I wish I could learn how to model like that.

Unfortunately not! The background is a cover for a book and was painted by Kazu Kibuishi, the creator of the awesome webcomic Copper.

Thanks for the hint. Love that one:

For the modeling: Just try it, it's not as difficult as it sounds. PM me if you like some hints.

I do not have as many as I like because I try to find ones that are more in the amber tones.  Here are the ones I do love to display:

And for those who wish for desktop icons (sorry mates, she only made them for Macs):

Click on the preview to see it in a larger window.

I do have a very cool steampunk illustration which the artist made as a single wallpaper or tiled.  But as how I cannot find his link to give proper credit, I shall not post it.

Cheers!   Wink

I have an extensive collection of steampunk pictures, mostly from deviantart.
My current background is a rather wonderful city scene by one Sketchbook, who is really a quite incredible artist.
