Music is my main passion, so I chose the "I love steampunk among many other things" option.
I've never been able to really tie myself to any particular style or genre in a lasting way. I enjoy many different lifestyles, subcultures, and styles of fiction. Steampunk is just one of many, to me.

I think part of the reason it stands out to me among other styles, however, is because it is so hard to pin down. It wears different hats, you might say. I've seen it incorporated into many different fictional works without dominating the work, which is great, because I crave variety (and because I like stories to be about something more substantial than just the overall tone of the work.) ((Which is why I couldn't stand Cormac McCarthy's "The Road."))
Anyway, steampunk as a genre pulls this off smashingly.

I'd like to say so, unfortunately I'm far from being a perfect steamer myself... I'm actually fond of the Victorian Era and whimsical worlds, and I've found in the steampunk movement something that joins these two addictions... I've other addictions indeed, but as far as the steampunk is concerned, that's all I can say...! Once again I miss many english words to explain, but to cut a long story short, steampunk is one of my main passion, I like dressing as a victorian lady, I like all these atmospheres of "Expositions Universelles", and if I'm not a great steamer myself, I can say I'm fascinating by steampunk..!

I beg your pardon for my disastrous English! Bien que je puisse vous chanter les beautés de la Ville Lumière...
