Welcome to the Metaphysical Board!

This board is for the discussion of Steampunk, Neo-Victorian, VictorianScience-Fiction and Gaslamp themed subjects that do not come under the other board headings.  Whether that happens to be wondering what the most Steampunk-appropriate tea blend is, or whether the moon really does have all the helium we could ever want for - here is the place to discuss it.

As is the case in all of the boards, rudeness, religious/political discussions and -isms of any kind are not welcome.

Thankyou, and again, welcome!

These rules were updated on 10/08/09.  The new rules are now sticky.

Political and religious discussion has been banned from the very outset of this forum, These are subjects so highly emotionally charged and that cannot reasonably come to a conclusion through an internet forum, that their very presence as topics creates disagreement, frustration, anger and often results in neverending flamewars.

Since the opening of the forum, another topic has been found to be just as divisive - modern firearms.  It is a highly emotional subject with a multitude of clashing and incompatible viewpoints, leading to discussions characterized not only by thinly veiled political overtones (see above) but very personal anger, disgust and dissapointment with other members.

From this moment onwards, Modern Firearms (see definition below) join both Religion and Politics as banned topics here at the Steampunk Forum.

Modern Firearm discussion includes: Real weapons created after 1914 (the start of WWI).
It does not include: Plastic toy guns that have been modified to look 'Steampunk', water pistols, or nerf weapons also Steampunk-modified or pre-1914 themed.

Specifically, if the item in question is not either a piece of historical interest to Steampunk fans (generally anything before 1914), or an obviously replica/prop piece that has Steampunk aspects to it, then it should not be discussed here.  I want to make it clear that both 'pro-gun' and 'anti-gun' discussions are unwelcome, as both dealing with Modern Firearms and being Political in nature.

As I am sure you are aware, there are innumerable forums for discussion on any of our proscribed subjects - the internet bulges with places for the discussion of politics, religion and modern firearms of any flavour.  But it is not here.
