This is yet another watch in need of background information...

I have inherited of a watch that, while having all the technical information and the pieces needed for the restoration, I have only partial info's about its origins... Its a "Metric" watch (the brand, not the time division) with a Breitling Venus 188 chronograph movement. There is two serial number on the back of the case: 790883 and 1190. Now, even with this, the "Metric" part eludes me totally: All google gives me is information on the metric division of time, and we lack any good historical documentation at school... Anyone has a clue?

Pictures will probably follow, if I can find a decent camera.

Pictures would help, but the Venus 188 was used in quite a few brands, including Breitling, Heuer, Helbros,etc..  Good solid movement, Valjoux based their 7730 on it.
