I have now started compiling outfits. I have 9 to choose from over the course of the weekend, depending on weather, activity/event, zombie apocalypse or international incident negotiations.
I hope it's sunny...

I was only going to make one new outfit for the weekend, thinking I have more than enough clothes to choose from -now the date is getting closer, having outfit anxiety and thinking I might try to make another jacket too! :-)
Need to concentrate more on accessories though, as that's where my wardrobe is slightly lacking.

Three new outfits almost ready for this year... a much broader range of themes! Getting close now... really close for me as I go to work in germany next week and won't be back until the wednesday before the Asylum! Furiously sewing my new coat. At least I'll have german flea markets to peruse and new goggles off german ebay are waiting for me at base!

No more new outfits for me I'm afraid. I've got to survive on the stuff I already have.

The Lady Inkerman on the other hand has requested a new ball outfit and other garments to wow the assembled masses. I really must teach her how to sew. That way I might get some peace.  Grin

We'll just be popping up for Saturday, tiss only a hours drive away.

Currently trying to put together attire for Mrs Mouse, which is proving tricky. It also look like all 4 Mouselings will be in tow too, since my parents can't have some of them that weekend

I have 0.2 of an outfit.
I have some serious buying and manufacturing to do in the next month.

So far I have a half made gun, some leather braces that need repairing, some boots that don't fit, a second pair of bracers that make me look like an extra from the Blue Oyster and no goggles.

My other half has been hinting that my new pinstripe fabric would look good as a waistcoat!  At this rate, he'd either better learn to sew or have another outfit in mind as I don't think there are enough hours in the day to finish all I've planned. :-)

In some ways it might be better that I am harnessed with the limitations of air travel vis a vis my potential wardrobe / last minute sewing.

I can relate to that, as that's my usual restriction when going to Wave Gotik Treffen (in Leipzig) - which can be frustrating for me; so many beautiful outfits there and I'm restricted to airline baggage allowance!  It does force me to be more inventive with my outfits though.

However for UK events like the Asylum, my only limitation is the size of the car boot (which I worryingly managed to fill last year!) and amount of time to finish everything.  My work colleagues were quite amused that I took a week off last year to finish outfits and pack.  Smiley

The airline restrictions for international aren't very liberal anymore and once I arrive then have to schlep the luggage around the tube and trains. And I will need a bit of non Victorian garb as well. So it's better to be a bit conservative. Good thing my bustle folds down!

I have considered shipping. US hotels are usually pretty good with packages. What about UK ones?

Between now and the BIG event I've got the Sizzler tonight, Rebellion Punk Festival in Blackpool, Rhythm Festival in Bedford, my parents 50th anniversary party and a charity punk gig to DJ/Quizmaster in Ipswich. Nothing major happens for months and then....

Hopefully, I'll be able to retain a little energy for Lincoln. Grin

At least the car's passed it's M.O.T. and is properly serviced 'cause 'Ole Black Jack's got some miles to cover over the next two months.

But my new outfit is only half done and I've got all that painting to do....

I'm not too bad on clothes. However, I could do with a pair of high-waisted trousers that aren't grey (to go with my day/informal attire) and really could do with a fancy Victorian style waistcoat to go with my frock coat for the ball (hopefully there will be something I like in the bazzar). Other than that, I will be on the lookout for accessories. However, with two steam fairs between  now and the Asylum I hope to find some bits I can use.

Also looking to build a new walking cane.

I have a few questions, I hope you don't mind me asking here.
I assume this information will be on the website at some point but I can't find it and my OCD requires answers.   Tongue Huh

In no particular order, the things I've been wondering about are . . .

During the day will there be lockers or a cloakroom available to stash coats, oversize guns and bulky purchases and bags?
What time do the Majors Soiree and the Ball start?
Will there be food at the ball - either as part of the ticket price or to buy extra?
.. in fact, will there be food available at any part of the event or do we need to eat elsewhere?
Is there parking at the event? Overnight parking? Free, secure, overnight parking?
Why did the three musketeers not have muskets?

Thanks.
